I still remember that there was (and still are) a lot of fuss over Ridley Scott´s sci-fi/horror movie “Prometheus” (it was released back in 2012). Mainly because people think that the movie didn´t live up to their expectations.
Or the fact that most people just don´t get the plot behind Prometheus either (or the characters’ actions for that matter). I don´t want to spoil the movie for those who havn´t seen it yet.
So let me just say that there´s a lot of questions in the Prometheus, but very few answers. Me, i had one of those “What the hell did i just watch?” kind of feelings once the credits role started to scroll down on my tv-screen.
And still, i´ve been a fan of sci-fi and horror movies, series and games since the early 90s (i´ve seen, heard and read a lot). But that diden´t help me all that much when i watched “Prometheus”.
So when i heard that Ridley Scott is working on “Prometheus 2” (starring Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace from the first movie) i had some very mixed emotions about it. I can´t be entirely blamed for that though.
As “Prometheus” received some very blended reviews world-wide (it has a 7/10 average score on imdb.com though).
And one can´t denay the fact that “Prometheus” was a box office hit either (the budget was Budget $120-$130 million. The movie made $403 million at the box office).
So “Prometheus 2” was bound to happen really (the movie is set for a 2016 release). What i diden´t know however, was that it´s said that Alien 5 director Neill Blomkamp had a little talk with Ridley Scott.
As there has been a change to the Alien 5 plot. It´s also said that there will be no xenomorphs in “Prometheus 2” (according to Ridley Scott himself).
There will be a lot of other “monster” like creatures though (of course). But is it a good or bad thing that there will be no xenomorphs in the movie?
I guess we just have to wait until 2016 to find out.
