Wow, this sure came out of nowhere. At least if you´re familour with Ernest Cline´s sci-fi/dystopian book “Ready Player One” (it was released back in 2011).

Because i never thought that anyone would try to make a movie out of “Ready Player One”. But i was wrong, as Steven Spielberg i set to direct the movie, while Ernest Cline is the writer for the movie.

But what is “Ready Player One” all about then? Well, for those who havn´t read the book yet. It´s about a young outcast (Wade Watts), that likes to escape his everyday life (And problems), by playing an online MMO game called “The Oasis”.

Will Wade Watts ever get his hands on the easter egg in “The Oasis”. And will he live long enough to enjoy it if he does?

That´s nothing out of the ordinary of course (as most of us do that as well). But here´s the thing, when the billionaire founder of “The Oasis” dies, he told the players that he will give away all of his money to the one player that can find a special easter egg within the game.

And Wade Watts (the outcast of “Ready player one) want´s that money of course. So he spent five years looking for that easter egg in “The Oasis”. His far from alone though, as corporate foes will do everything in their power to get their hands on that money.

So, yeah. I think “Ready Player One” has a really interesting plot and story to tell. But will Steven Spielberg (and Ernest Cline) be able to make a good movie out of it?
