Forget all about Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea and Kesha. Because i have found the REAL queen of hip hop and rap. And her name is “Sammus” (she´s from New York USA). And i´ve haven´t heard (or seen) such a talent since i heard Left Eye Lopes rap for the very first time in the 90s. Because let´s face it, it´s more about looks than talent nowadays (when it comes to MTV and getting air time in main stream media).

So just like i´ve said a million times before. The really talented people are to be found on the indie/underground scene. And that´s the case with “Sammus”. Because her raps are fresh, creative and really well-written (read “smart”). And she has this awesome rap flow going on as well (“Sammus” just keeps on spitting out words to neat beats like there´s no tomorrow).

And another thing that makes “Sammus” rather unique, would be the fact that she raps about games and geek culture, she´s a huge fan of the Metroid series for example (thus the “Sammus: Another M” album).

Not only that, “Sammus” has worked with other talented rappers such as “Mega Ran” (his a huge name on the video game rap scene). I also noticed that “DJ Cutman” has made quite a few “Sammus” remixes. But even so, i still think that “Sammus” deserves way more cred and recognition for her work.

Just take her “Another M” album. I´ve been listning to that album over, and over again since yesterday. Imo, it´s a hit album for sure. Just take the song “Crown”, sick beats, awesome rhymes and lyrics. Honestly, it´s laughable when i think about people such as Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea (or Kanye West for that matter).

As they ain´t got a shit on people such as “Sammus”. So i sure hope that “Sammus” will continue to do her thing, and focus on her music. Because then it´s just a matter of time before she makes it big. And if i could make a request (i don´t know if she does that sort of thing), then i would love to see her do a video/song with “Skyblew“, “Wordburglar” or “Nathan Haskill“.

As they are some of THE most talented rappers and hip hop artists of today. And i´m honestly fed up with all the shit rap/hip hop music that MTV pumps out 24/7, as the kids of today have no clue (whatsoever) what REAL epic rap/hip hop music sounds (and feels) like. Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Young Thug you say? Give me a break…

B-Real can come up with better lyrics and rhymes in his sleep. Anyhow, do yourself a favour and buy Sammus music via Bandcamp. As she will make your day a better one for sure, and she deserves the money as well. And “if” i could make a request for some games and movies that i would love to see (hear) “Sammus” rap about.
