I bet that there´s quite a few out there that´s 100% malice about the fact that Brianna Wu´s game “Revolution 60″ has been accused of being sexist.”Oh the irony“, is probably the nr 1 most common comment on the subject right now (Steam, Youtube and social media).

One could probably also make fun of the whole situation. But i´m not going to do that. No, instead i´m going to give my honest opinion and thoughts on the subject. For starter, IF Revolution 60 haven´t had been developed by Brianna Wu and Giant Spacekat (an all female team). Then there could have been a possibility that Anita Sarkeesian would have done some “cherry picking” with the game in her “Tropes vs. Women in Video Games” series.

The final version of “Revolution 60” will have altered body proportions.

But there´is zero risk of that ever happening now (for more than one reason). The question remains however, is Revolution 60 a sexist game or not? Well, it’s all in the eye of the observer really. Let´s just say that those who look really hard for something that they want to find, those kind of people will find what their looking for (sooner or later) . And apparently there will be changes done to “Revolution 60”. As the final version of Revolution 60 will have altered body proportions in the game (as requested by critics and the players themselves). But will that be enough to satisfy those who have accused Revolution 60 for being a sexist game?

It´s hard to tell at this time, and some would even say that the damage has already been done (and it can´t be undone). Oh well, you can Giant Spacekat´s full statement on this topic on Steam.
