The SJW movement Vs devs, retailers and Gamers
I have been wondering for over a year’s time when the big turning point would come for the games industry (I started to count the days once GG took off back in August last year), because the SJW movement has been sucking out the fun out of the games industry for a long time now. In short, they have been a real pain in the ass for Gamers, developers and publishers alike (and they still are a big pain in the ass). I mean, just take a lot at some of the past SJW events (this includes everything from video games, comics to TV-series):
– The SJWs and feminists rants over Linkle in “Hyrule Warriors Legends
– Team Ninja won´t release Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 in the West due to attacks from SJWs?
– Direct2drive gets into trouble because of a Gaming advertising campaign
– Is Le Cartel´s ultra violent beat-em-up game “Mother Russia Bleeds” really all that much controversial?
– Dynamite Entertainment and the SJWs has destroyed Red Sonja, Vampirella and Dejah Thoris
– South Park keeps on trolling PC Bros and SJWs in the “Safe Space” episode
It´s a never-ending list really, and keep in mind that I have just presented to you a handful of examples between 2014 and 2015. Well, you get my point. So let´s jump forward to the big clash between Huniepot, Kotaku, Play-Asia and the SJW movement (which took place between the 25th and 26th of November). However, before I do that I think it´s worth mentioning that Direct2drive had a similar SJW backlash experience back in September this year. Nevertheless, I choose to focus solely on Play-Asia and Huniepot´s SJW encounters, since those events took place just recently. So let’s get the show on the road shall we?
Huniepot Vs Kotaku and the SJWs
As I was saying, the big turning point in the games industry took place on the 25th of November. And everything started with Huniepot offering Koei Tecmo US 1 million dollars for the DOAX3 US publishing rights, because that triggered a whole chain of reactions in the blink of an eye. First of all, no one saw that offer coming, secondly Huniepot´s offer set the internet on fire (there has been very salty tweets from the SJW movement ever since).
That´s just the half of it though, because when Kotaku´s senior reporter Patrick Klepek reached out to HuniePot for a comment about their one million-dollar offer to Koei Tecmo US. HuniePot simply dismissed Klepek and Kotaku right away (as seen in the picture down below). In other words, not only has Kotaku been blacklisted (or “ignored”) by Ubisoft and Bethesda, now they’re probably blacklisted by HuniePot as well.
Play-Asia Vs Kotaku and the SJWs
And once the HuniePot Vs Kotaku and SJW storm had blown over (or at least calmed down a bit). Play-Asia brought the perfect storm into the world of Twitter when they tweeted out the following message two days ago:
And just when you thought that the perfect storm couldn´t possibly get any more intense, Kotaku´s editor Luke Plunkett took a swing at Play-Asia by tweeting out “How To Lose Friends And Influence Nobody“. It´s not the first time that I´ve seen Plunkett tweet out messages such as this though. For example, just recently Plunkett tweeted out the following message to Mark Kern (Kern is an American video game designer and the creator of League For Gamers):
“a few people I know and like follow mark “human garbage” kern on twitter, which is a bit sad” – Luke Plunkett, Kotaku editor
However, Luke Plunkett´s tweet, the SJWs rants and the boycott against Play-Asia got drowned by all the voices that showed their support to Play-Asia. Thus tweets such as this:
“We don´t want to take your games away” – The SJW movement
And I find all of this to be rather funny, especially since “certain” people have claimed for over a year’s time that they don´t want to take our games away from us . Well, we all know what a fat lie that is. As the SJWs has attacked games such as “The Witcher 3“, “Hyrule Warriors Legends“, “Street Fighter V“, “HuniePop”, “Metal gear solid v the phantom pain” with many more in the past.
So you know what? I think that Ken Levine did the right thing when he stood up for freedom of speech and artistic freedom back in October this year, because just look at all the mess that the SJWs has caused to the games industry (censorship, harassment of devs, stopping Asian games from getting a release in the West etc ). In fact, I know developers and publishers that didn´t even dare to comment on the current state with the SJWs and the games industry, when we asked them about it. Hell, some of them even backed out of our interviews because they were afraid of the SJWs wrath “if” they would speak up about them. So who´s the real bullies, fascists and harassers in the games industry?
I tell you who it is, it´s the SJWs. As they try to scare people into being quiet (the truth cannot and will not be silenced), and force developers to compromise with their creative and artistic freedom. So you can think and say what you want about Huniepot and Play-Asia, but they have a lot of balls. And even if they are opportunists (which the SJW movement claim), Play-Asia and Huniepot still fight for creative freedom and freedom of speech. And I support that fight wholeheartedly.
You can´t hide from the Streisand effect
Besides, I still don´t understand why the SJWs even bothers about games which they don´t intend to buy in the first place? (I guess that they just want to ruin all the fun for everyone else) I mean, that´s like I would whine over things in “World of Warcraft” (a game which I don´t play or own), or better yet. That I would make demands for things to be changed in Wow, as some of the in-game content might “trigger” or “offend” me. Well, you get my point. Nevertheless, it seems like the SJWs “might” have started a global streisand Effect due to their fight with Play-Asia and HuniePot. Because shortly after the “HuniePot wants the publishing rights for DOAX3 in the States” storm hit the Internet like a sledgehammer, the former Batgirl writer (Gail Simone) tweeted out that she wanted to play “Dead or Alive” (as seen in the picture down below). Well, the streisand effect anyone?
Anyhow, I think that HuniePot and Play-Asia showed a lot of guts and bravery by standing up against the SJWs. Not only that, Play-Asia and HuniePot also sent a clear message to the SJWS that they won´t cave in to their demands. In short, they proved for everyone else in the games industry that you don´t have to fear (or be afraid) of the SJWs. You simply have to stand up for yourself, and put them in their place (that´s how you deal with bullies like a pro). And before I wrap this article up, I would like to point out that I have had my fair share of the SJWs wrath at well (I will share my experience with them in my upcoming Youtube video). Even so, I am not afraid of them. In fact, I will add some of Play-Asia´s ads on our homepage as soon as possible.
With that said, what do you guys and girls think about all of this? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
