Press release:
November 20th, 2017 – Galaktus PR, an agency serving customers from the technology and video games industries, has announced the end of applications for the FreeGalaktus 2017 competition. The initiative to select the best project created by independent developers is entering a decisive phase. The results in two categories: People Choice and the Jury Choice, will be presented during East Games United 2017 in Bialystok, December 9-10.

Record edition
This year’s edition brought a record number of entries. In total, developers from 38 countries and 5 continents submitted 125 projects for PC games, consoles, mobile devices and VR equipment. To vote in the People’s Choice category, please visit the competition’s website www.FreeGalaktus.pl, go to the Vote tab and vote by ticking the box under your favorite title. The organizers are already talking about great success, while encouraging to continue the voting, which lasts until the end of November.

– Creators from twice as many countries as a year earlier have entered the FreeGalaktus 2017 competition, which significantly affected the number of projects submitted. It is a success, first and foremost, of the indie industry, which is developing in many directions and at a phenomenal pace. This is clearly visible in the diversity of the games taking part in the competition – comments Mateusz Szukajt, the owner of Galaktus PR and the main originator of FreeGalaktus. – Voting strengthens the link between the creator and his audience, which become part of the whole process of game creation. Votes of the players can indicate the most desirable direction in which the Independent Games segment should follow, so they have a real impact on the whole shape of the indie market – adds Szukajt.

Attractive prizes
The stakes in the competition are high. Winners in both categories are fighting, among others, for: 3 month PR campaign in Poland and Europe sponsored by Galaktus PR Agency, support for social media management, professional legal assistance related to organization and running a development studio in Poland and guaranteed places at Digital Dragons 2018, Pixel Heaven 2018, East Games United 2017, Reboot Develop Expo and Casual Connect London 2018. The winners can also expect additional prizes from the competition sponsors, among whom you will find Lioncast, AdoptMyGame, Brand24 and Gaming Istanbul.
