Vienna, Austria – March 16th, 2026: Twenty-five years ago, on March 15th, 2001, a little RPG from Germany called Gothic launched and quickly became one of the most iconic franchises in the genre. We’ve finished chanting “Happy Birthday!” loudly and proudly in the office – and to celebrate this massive milestone, we’ve got some exciting news to share!

Gothic is coming to iOS
The classic RPG is making its way to iOS mobile devices later this year. More details, including a release date and pricing, are coming soon. Check out the first teaser:

New Gothic merch is dropping
We’re launching a brand-new merch line to mark the anniversary, including a limited-edition Scavenger Figurine (500 pieces only), an imitation leather map of the Valley of Mines right from the Gothic 1 Remake, and the Gothic Classic Sketchbook, where concept artist Ralf Marczinczik compiled the original sketches and artworks across a total of 176 pages. Perfect for fans, collectors, and anyone who has always wanted a Scavenger on their desk, judging them. About Gothic 1 Remake
The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by a relentless horde of orcs. Desperate for powerful weapons to repel them, King Rhobar II orders the mining of vast quantities of magical ore, setting every available prisoner to work in the Khorinis mines. To ensure no one escapes, the King commands his most skilled mages to erect a magical barrier. But something goes terribly wrong, and the magic spirals out of control, trapping everyone inside. The prisoners rebel, transforming the mine into a lawless territory ruled by the Colony’s most brutal inmates.
