Press release:
[Guildford, UK] – 25 June 2026, 2pm BST – Playsport today announced Motorsport Manager 2, the long-awaited return of the beloved motorsport management series, coming to Steam in 2027. For those looking to get their fix of Motorsport Manager now, Motorsport Manager 1 is available in the Steam Summer Sale for 80% off.

With the Motorsport Manager PC series back under Playsport’s stewardship, the studio is returning with a deeper, broader, and more ambitious sequel built for a new era of motorsport management.

Building on the foundations of the original Motorsport Manager, Motorsport Manager 2 expands the series with a larger motorsport universe, richer race simulations, deeper team management systems, and full mod support from day one.

In Motorsport Manager 2, players step into the role of Team Principal, taking control of a racing organisation and guiding it across multiple forms of motorsport, including Single Seater, GT, Endurance and more. From hiring drivers to developing cars, building staff, managing finances, shaping long-term strategy, and making crucial calls on race day, every decision plays a part in the journey from underdog hopefuls to championship contenders.

The sequel is designed as an evolution of the series, not a reinvention. The core fantasy remains clear: build the team, improve the machinery, hire the right people, and go racing. Motorsport Manager 2 expands that foundation with more depth, more freedom, and a more reactive motorsport world.

“Motorsport Manager has never really left us, and it clearly never left the community either,” said Matt Hanlon, Project Lead at Playsport. “For years, fans have kept the game alive through mods, discussions, videos, feedback, and countless hours of play. Motorsport Manager 2 is being made for the people who never stopped believing in the series, and we’re incredibly excited to finally return to this world.”

A major focus for Motorsport Manager 2 is delivering a more dynamic and believable race experience. Teams will react more intelligently to what is happening on track, adjusting strategy in response to changing conditions, pit stops, rivals, and opportunities. A new weather simulation introduces more varied and dramatic race-day decision-making, with conditions that can change across different parts of the circuit rather than simply applying to the whole track at once.

Off the track, Motorsport Manager 2 gives players greater freedom to shape their own motorsport stories. Because the game is not tied to official real-world championships, rules, calendars, or restrictions, players can build their own racing universe with custom teams, drivers, rivalries, championships, and stories.

“Freedom is one of the biggest advantages of Motorsport Manager 2,” added Matt Hanlon, Project Lead at Playsport. “Real-world motorsport is an inspiration, not a limitation. We can draw from different eras, disciplines, formats, rivalries, and stories to create a motorsport world that feels authentic, dramatic, and full of possibility.”

Motorsport Manager 2 is also being built with long-term creativity in mind. With full mod support from day one, the game is designed to give players and creators the tools to reshape their experience, build new championships, introduce new teams, create alternative racing worlds, and keep the game evolving for years to come.

A full reveal, including the first look at Motorsport Manager 2 gameplay, will follow this autumn. Further details on the game’s expanded motorsport universe, management systems, race-day simulation, and modding tools will be shared in the months ahead.
