The Netherlands-based indie games publisher Iceberg Interactive and the Finland-based indie games developer Muro Studios, today announced with great joy and excitement that their 2D action Metroidvania “DOOMBLADE”, is coming to PC via Steam on May 31st, 2023, at an SRP of $17.99/€17.49/£14.99!

In this fast, addictive, and challenging Metroidvania, players take on the role of Gloom Girl, the last of the Gloomfolk, who discovers DOOMBLADE, a sentient weapon hellbent on escape, having spent eons in chains.

The new and disruptive fly-attack movement system allows Gloom Girl to continue dashing through the air as long as she keeps attacking. Players will need quick reflexes and razor-sharp precision to master the game.

Developed by the Finnish two-man team Muro Studios, the expansive world of DOOMBLADE was perfected over five years. Its creators poured their love and talent into every nook and cranny of the vast DOOMBLADE universe. Genre-typical, there are many power-ups and secrets to be found in this massive world, spanning seven interconnected and distinct biomes.

With DOOMBLADE and his powers, Gloom and Doom make their way to free the Lowlands and exact revenge against the Dread Lords. The level and enemy encounters are designed with fast-paced movement in mind. A soundtrack by Brian Skeel will surely get your blood pumping and set the mood for some serious Fly & Slash action.

Gloom Girl is the last of the Gloomfolk, surviving in the Lowland caves. Until one day, she hears a whisper…
Lured from her solitude, she discovers a chamber containing a sentient blade, trapped and bound for eons. Freeing DOOMBLADE, “Doom and Gloom” join forces and begin a quest to regain the blade’s powers and exact vengeance on its captors.

Execute enemies with pin-point accuracy… 
Wielding DOOMBLADE, Gloom Girl can ride through the air to attack enemies. Target monsters to attack them directly, and slay them with DOOMBLADE’s wrath!

Restore DOOMBLADE’s lost powers…

Journey from the abandoned halls of Gloomhaunt, into the New Wilderwood Forest full of untrusting tribesmen, through the Molded Mines with their hedonistic shroom people, and into a technological hellscape known as the Power Sector. Wielding DOOMBLADE, Gloom Girl must destroy the monsters within and hunt down the Dread Lords who imprisoned DOOMBLADE.
