Press release:
September 18, 2026 | The wait is over. After 6 years in development, Magic Puncher Games’ Sunken Realms, a focused ARPG dungeon crawler with rogue-lite elements, is out now on Steam at $16.99 / £13.99 / €16.99, with a 10% launch discount for the first two weeks. The gates of Aedaria are open, with 45,000 wishlists already logged and adventurers ready to descend.

The demo remains live until September 21st for anyone who wants a first taste before diving into the full journey.

“The game that inspired me to make my own was Outward,” said Brad Warren, the solo developer behind Magic Puncher Games.

“It has such a feeling of adventure and the wide unknown that I haven’t quite felt anywhere else. Sunken Realms went in its own direction over time, but I hope it kept that same spirit.” That spirit carries through the game today, alongside the storytelling influence of Hades and the sense of adventure found in The Legend of Zelda.

About the Game
Decades ago, the great underground city of Aedaria was cursed by the gods and fell into darkness. It’s said to swallow anyone foolish enough to pass its gates, nearly forgotten by all but the adventurers still drawn by dreams of riches and the unknown. Among them is Alric, searching for the truth about what happened to his father.

Explore the Lost City
Dive into a hand-crafted, procedurally-rearranged dungeon as you explore Aedaria’s ruins, battle enemies, search for loot, and try to make it out alive.

Spend Your Spoils
Return to camp on the surface to craft new weapons and armor, brew potions, prepare food, and upgrade your stats at the Soul Forge. When you’re ready, head back down and choose a higher difficulty for tougher fights and better loot.

Key Features

109 hand-crafted rooms across six distinct sections, procedurally rearranged every time you enter the dungeon
Fluid melee and ranged combat
Learn spells to wield powerful, long-forgotten magic
Collect gold and crafting materials from vanquished foes and treasure chests
Return to camp to craft weapons, cook food, brew potions, trade, and upgrade your character at the Soul Forge
A heartfelt, personal story between two friends around the campfire between runs
Immersive, original score
