Press release:
[August 12, 2026] — Security 51, Alawar’s atmospheric horror security guard simulator inspired by Papers, Please and SCP paranoia, is out now on Steam. As the officer stationed at a checkpoint deep within Area 51, you must inspect employees, verify their clearance, and decide who is allowed through. The paperwork may look convincing, but appearances can be dangerously misleading. Security 51 is available for $9.99, with a 10% launch discount for the first two weeks.

Your duties extend far beyond checking IDs. Monitor who enters and leaves the facility, follow ever-changing protocols designed to keep the unexplainable contained, and watch for anomalies that defy explanation. The rules may seem straightforward at first, but before long you’ll begin to question everyone standing at your checkpoint – and even the instructions you’ve been given.

Key Features

Run the checkpoint: Control access to the elevator connecting Area 51’s bunker to unknown levels far below.
Inspect every visitor: Check documents, clearances, and entry records while watching for suspicious answers and behavior.
Use advanced verification tools: Confirm identities through fingerprint checks and blood tests as new methods become available.
Quarantine the unknown: Isolate suspicious employees when the evidence is unclear – but risk detaining the innocent.
Live with the consequences: Your decisions may have an immediate impact or return to haunt you several shifts later.

Security 51 is available now on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store with a 10% launch discount through August 26.
