The Malaysian imdie games developer Weyrdworks are today very happy and excited to announce that their F2P virtual pet sim “Weyrdlets“, is coming to PC via Steam on July 23rd, 2024.

The demo is also part of Steam Next Fest, showcasing its wholesome approach to encouraging focus and enhancing task efficiency.

Described by some as “Animal Crossing meets Nintendogs,” Weyrdlets is a desktop virtual pet game that seamlessly blends cute pet-caretaking relaxation with the feeling of accomplishment via genuine productivity. Weyrdlets also features Twitch integration, allowing streamers to engage with their communities during co-working streams or while queuing up in their favorite multiplayer titles.

While you immerse yourself in your work, utilizing features like the integrated Pomodoro Timer and To-Do list, your Weyrdlet will roam around the screen, keeping you company. Additionally, while your pet idles, it earns coins—in-game currency that lets you buy items to customize your pet’s look and decorate their home!

The Weyrdlets demo is available now on Windows PC via Steam, with a full release date of July 23, 2024.
