Press release:
Barcelona, Spain – August 26, 2020
Dummy Dojo and Abylight Studios are today very happy and excited to announce that their fast-paced runner game “Ninja Chowdown” is coming to iOS this Fall (2020).

Developed specifically for mobile platforms, this story-centric, action-packed runner with plenty of flavor (pun intended!) is coming to iPhone and iPad in the most polished version ever, thanks to the winning combo of catchy and vibrant design by Dummy Dojo and Abylight’s expertise in bringing renowned indie titles to Apple devices.

“I have an empty void in my soul that only donuts can fill…” – Donatsu.

Donatsu is a cute chubby ninja whose story you follow in Ninja Chowdown.

He loves donuts more than anything! The Dough-jo Donuttery is a food chain and a ninja dojo at the same time, climbing to the top of the food chain… the top of the chain of world’s food chains! Because in this world, run by cuisine champions, everyone strives to be the #1 food place… and the most formidable warrior team by night! A strong flavor breeds an equally strong fighting spirit!

The adventure begins when The Traveling Rollnin’s leader, Sushi Sam, steals the Know-nut, the Doughnut of Ultimate Knowledge, from the Dough-jo. And no one but Donatsu is skilled and badass enough to get it back!

Easy to pick up, hard to master: the Dummy Dojo team designed the controls, obstacles and goals to be simple and straightforward, but challenging and never boring.

Ninja Chowdown has been a Kickstarter success: they almost doubled the goal they initially set.

“We decided to work with Abylight Studios because they had a great reputation in the games industry. Based on their catalog, we could tell that they take care of individual creators well rather than trying to garner a large quantity of projects. This is our first time working with a publisher, we loved the detail that the team at Abylight Studios went into when testing and assuring quality of Ninja Chowdown”, says Mark Ilog and Lenny Lam, the Programmer and Artist of Dummy Dojo.

“When we saw the artwork of Ninja Chowdown we were very interested. Once we tried the demo (at the time) – we were hooked. This first game by Dummy Dojo is a promise of the great future things that this team will bring to the video game industry, Abylight didn’t want to lose the chance to be part of it”, says Eva Gaspar, the CEO and Executive Producer of Abylight.

Look forward to:

Modern 2D pixel art aesthetic
Food-themed story with an emphasis on donuts and ninjas!
Short levels, thrilling and humorous (30 seconds – 3 minutes)
35 levels and 3 play modes
Unique and funny characters
Pets, clothes and weapons to customize your adventure
Haptic feedback
Game Center achievements and leaderboards
Languages supported: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Turkish and Portuguese

Developed by Dummy Dojo and published by Abylight, Ninja Chowdown is expected on iOS sooner than you think!

It’s will be free with ads, which you can disable forever for $2,99/€3,49. This also gives you 5000 coins to spend on clothing, weapons and pets.

The game will work on most devices with iOS 13 or newer, starting from iPhone SE.
