Press release:
TOKYO – July 14, 2022.
The Japan-based indie games publisher Phoenixx and indie games developer VV-LABO today announced with great happiness and thrill that their head-to-head party action game “SUPER UFO FIGHTER”, is now available for PC (via Steam) and the Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop).

Beam up to vie in vibrant UFO battles amongst the stars. Choose between six spacecraft, each with specific shwoop beams and smash attacks. Smash capsules to find the target item, shwoop it up before the opponent can, and secure it into the goal to win the round.

Go on the defensive, picking up non-goal objects and shwoop them into the opponent’s basket to raise the wall to their goal, making scoring more challenging!

Clash online in cross-platform multiplayer between PC and Switch or face off friends in local multiplayer. Duke it out in flashy extraterrestrial arenas such as the Shwoop Stadium, Bubbletopia Palace, and Corner Caboodle, each as alien as the other, with their own level-specific elements to leverage. Spar it out in a variety of game modes such as Super Ball mode, aiming to get the explosive ball to the opponent’s side of the screen before it detonates.

Explore the vibrant world of Super UFO Fighter in the single-player campaign. Guide Lulu, a human girl who finds herself accidentally onboard a spacecraft and embarks in a cosmic competition. Before returning home to mom, she learns how to command a shwoop beam, and decides to earn the universal crown for herself. Master each UFO in the training mode and after completing the Story Mode, face the ultimate challenge in an endless mode where opponents keep coming!

“Thanks to everyone who supported us from the early demos to our appearances at INDIE Live Expo Winter 2021 and The MIX Next, and then waiting a bit longer while we made Super UFO Fighter live up to everyone’s expectations,” said Taro Masuda, main programmer and art director, VV-LABO.

“We look forward to battling it out with everyone online in the crossplatform multiplayer!”

Super UFO Fighter is now available on Nintendo Switch and Steam for Windows PC for $11.99. Pick up the Steam version with a limited-time 20% launch discount until Thursday, July 21. The game supports English and Japanese on Nintendo Switch, and English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese language text on Steam.
