The Warsaw-based video game publisher Hyperstrange and indie games developer Paranoid Interactive, are today very pleased and excited to announce that their Norse-themed RTS/city builder “Frozenheim” is coming to PC via Steam Early Access on May 20th, 2021.

In Frozenheim the players find themselves in the time of Viking sagas. A blood feud tears apart their fatherland. They are banished from the lands of their ancestors, doomed to seek out a new home for themselves and those still loyal to them. Their new clan looks up to them as winter draws close. Building a settlement is no easy task, but keeping your people safe from cold, famine, and those who seek to destroy you is even harder. Will they rise to power and write their own saga of conquest and victory?

Frozenheim is a beautiful and serene norse city builder game that offers elaborate management mechanics and multiple progression trees to balance as the player maintains and expands their settlement. It tasks the player to build and expand a Viking village from nothing to a rich, unconquerable settlement.

Their clan will forage, hunt, fish, grow their food as the seasons pass. The game offers multiple progression paths allowing to utilize new buildings and units. Launching raids and exploration parties on foot or in drakkars allows to expand the clan’s influence, but may draw unwanted attention from the enemies.

The player may also choose to seek the blessings of ancient shrines and build temples to win the favor of Asgard. The breathtaking views of the Unreal Engine-powered Frozen North can be captured in handy photo mode.

Frozenheim launches in Early Access with introductory single-player scenarios serving as the prologue to the full campaign, a satisfying, open-ended free-play mode, and a basic multiplayer component. The publisher and the developer declare a monthly update schedule expanding the game’s gameplay and content, leading to a full release in the beginning of 2022.

The players are encouraged to wishlist the game that enters Steam Early Access on May 20.

– Launching our ELDERBORN through Steam Early Access has taught us that player feedback goes a long way in fine-polishing the game – said Wojtek Mroczek, the head of publishing at Hyperstrange. – While that’s true with an action game, it’s even more so with a strategy title like Frozenheim, with a multiplayer component and a lot of moving parts that need to be finely balanced. The tight, monthly update schedule will allow Paranoid Interactive to shift the players focus and fine-tune all the elements of the game for the early 2022 full release.
