Press release:
The US-based indie games developer/publisher Phantom Compass today announced with great excitement and joy that they have just released some new info and a brand-new trailer for their upcoming pinball/RPG/platformer “Rollers of the Realm: Reunion” (the game is coming to PC via Steam in 2022).

There was a time, way back in the year 2014, when it was thought that pinball and roleplaying games couldn’t possibly be mashed together. But then, Phantom Compass proved all the naysayers wrong by releasing Rollers of the Realm, a pinball fantasy RPG, to much fanfare.

Now it’s time to throw another genre into the mix: platformer.

Today, Phantom Compass is excited to show off the new platforming mechanics in action. Rollers of the Realm: Reunion features levels that turn the pinball action onto its side, providing players with the opportunity to test their platforming skills. Hop and roll through a variety of side-scrolling stages with your hero ball while overcoming the many obstacles that stand in the way.

Want to learn more about how pinball can take the platforming genre and turn it on its head? Watch the new explainer video here!

Climb the shelves of The Library in a search for tomes of legends and lore, use stealth and cunning to dodge The Treasury’s elaborate security, harness the unique terrain of the Mantle Threshold to avoid plummeting to certain death, and ascend to dizzying heights in Tower Climb to uncover the secrets to saving the Realm.

Legends are forged in the glory of battle… and pinball. Adventure awaits in Rollers of the Realm: Reunion, the medieval pinball game with an RPG twist. Following 2014’s Rollers of the Realm, Reunion expands upon its predecessor’s medieval questing and bombastic pinball arcade action with a new campaign storyline, loads of party and hero customization options, competitive leaderboards, and even a two-player cooperative mode! Players are invited to plunge into a medieval fantasy world where battling creepy goblins or tentacled beasts means warming up your flipper-fingers and using RPG-styled “character” balls to smash through or sneak around your foes, traps, and targets.

Key Features of Rollers of the Realm: Reunion:

An Unlikely Fellowship: Classic flipper-focused pinball meets rich role-playing in a mashup sure to tickle the fancy of both pinball enthusiasts and RPG fans alike.

Baller Companions: Choose from four different pinball heroes including the Knight, Mage, Rogue, and Healer with each offering distinct physics modifiers, ball sizes, and upgradeable gear.

Dungeon Master: Personalize the party’s progression through stats and equipment to best suit the trials ahead. Perhaps unleashing powerful magical abilities to weaken enemies as the Mage would be best before sending the Knight in?

There and Back Again: Overcome fearsome foes, labyrinthine mazes, and noggin’ scratching puzzles in a quest to conquer the 30+ missions and 24 playfields in a thrilling campaign mode.

Two Heads are Better than One: No need to brave the long road ahead alone thanks to two-player cooperative play where each player controls a flipper.

Rollers of the Realm: Reunion, will launch in 2022 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Be sure to follow Phantom Compass on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date on everything they’re doing!
