The Madrid-based (Spain) indie games publisher Freedom Games and Guadalajara-based (Mexico) indie games developer Halberd Studios, today announced with great excitement and happiness that their radiant pixel art Metroidvania “9 Years of Shadows”, is coming to PC (via Steam, GOG, and EGS) and the Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop).

“After hundreds of people tried out 9 Years of Shadows at events like PAX and Steam Next Fest, we have gotten some immensely valuable feedback and really excited sentiments”, said Miguel Hasson, Creative Director of Halberd Studios.

“We want to make sure we live up to those expectations and over-deliver on the Metroidvania experience. We thank you all for the support.”

Control both young warrior Europa and her childhood companion Apino simultaneously to mix up attacks with offensive and healing magics. Take note of each foe’s elemental weaknesses and equip magical armor to channel one of four elements.

Music is at the core of Europa’s quest thanks to a soundtrack by celebrated composers Michiru Yamane (Castlevania series) and Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid series). Composed specifically with 432hz arrangements in mind, this scientifically proven frequency promotes feelings of healing and positivity.
