Press release:
London, UK – November 12, 2025. Today, Ubisoft and Evil Empire announced that ‘The Rogue Prince of Persia’™, the critically acclaimed 2D action-platforming roguelite, will launch on Nintendo Switch™ and Switch™ 2 on December 16, 2025.
Following its successful release on Ubisoft +, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation®5, the game’s arrival on Nintendo platforms marks the new chapter in its multi-platform rollout.
Optimized for handheld and hybrid play, the Switch versions will feature all content from the 1.0 release, including a variety of biomes, weapons, medallions, and a reimagined art direction. Players will be able to enjoy fluid combat, dynamic parkour, and a rich narrative of redemption wherever they go.
In addition to the digital console releases, publishing partner U&I Entertainment today announced that The Rogue Prince of Persia™ physical Standard and Immortal Editions will launch for PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™, and Switch™ 2 on April 10, 2026.
The beautifully crafted Immortal Edition includes the full game (game key card), a double-sided poster, and a set of fine art cards showcasing stunning imagery from the game on one side, with the reverse sides combining to form part of a game world map, all housed in a premium SteelBook case with sleeve.
Pre-orders will open from November 14th for both the physical Standard and Immortal Editions. Check local retailers for pricing and availability.
Set in a beautifully reimagined Persian kingdom, The Rogue Prince of Persia blends fluid, acrobatic combat with challenging parkour and a rich narrative of redemption. Players must navigate procedurally generated levels, uncover secrets, and meet new characters as they attempt to right a fatal mistake that doomed their people. Each run offers new opportunities to adapt and evolve, forging a unique playstyle through exploration and discovery. With over 100 weapons and medallions to unlock and master, players can customize their build according to their playstyle and needs. Agility is key: wall-running, dodging traps, and chaining stylish combos are essential to survival. To get to the true outcome of this epic story, players will have to rewrite fate, save Persia, or die trying.
“We’re thrilled to bring The Rogue Prince of Persia to Nintendo Switch players,” said Lucie Dewagnier, Game Director at Evil Empire. “The game’s fast-paced action and replayability make it a perfect fit for hybrid play. We can’t wait to see players dive into the Prince’s journey on the go.”
The game’s immersive soundtrack, composed by Persian-American artist ASADI, is available on all streaming platforms and Ubisoft Music’s YouTube channel. A vinyl edition will be available soon via Laced Records.
