Oviedo, Spain- September 20, 2026 – Meteorbyte Studios and Mint Gate Games are glowing with excitement (or is that radiation poisoning?) to reveal their upcoming card-based survival strategy game, Toxic Frontier. Positively oozing with toxic sludge, Toxic Frontier features a crunchy retro aesthetic and worrying slithery shapes.

Played out across a traditional hex grid, you’ll start from a single humble tile and begin your settlement’s perilous pilgrimage into the wastes. Purifying the noxious landscape with each card you place on a tile, you’ll discover synergies that change how each run plays. Just make sure you reach the target score on each level, or you’ll soon run out of cards and your legend in the frontier will come to an abrupt, irradiated end.

As you explore the decimated wilds, you’ll uncover tiles and cards that react in new and unexpected ways to both your cards and the other tiles around them, creating complex and powerful combos. Plan your synergies carefully, and you might just increase your odds of survival from “soon to be mutant chow” to “might make it to the next bowl of rat soup”. Not great, not terrible.

The journey to rebooting civilization is a long and arduous one, and will lead your community across three vastly different biomes, each with their own stories to tell, quests to uncover, and unique mechanics. They each also come with entirely new ways to claim the lives of your hardy band of travellers… if you make it that far in the first place.

Locked underground for generations, tales of the surface have become exactly that; legends passed down via oral tradition of a world filled with sunlight, grass, and non-recycled air. As your band of nuclear nomads sets out to reclaim the wilderness, you will have to make a choice: create a bountiful haven of the wastes, or harness the all-corrupting power of the Toxic Frontier.
