Press release:
Pixel Perfex and Eccentrix Studios just announced Earth Atlantis Abyss, a shoot ’em up roguelike set in the flooded world of the Earth Atlantis series. Rising Tide Publishing is bringing it to PC on Steam, with launch planned for Q1 2027.

Build your sub piece by piece, ration your light, and dive through seven layers of a drowned world.

About the game

You play as Pypher, a seventeen-year-old captain who takes her grandfather’s old submarine down into the abyss to find out what happened to him. Three years ago he dove to the same spot and never came back. Hero, rebel, traitor: everyone tells a different story. The only way to learn the truth is to keep going down.

Boss fight in the drowned colosseum

The abyss has seven layers and each one is darker than the last. Light is a resource. The sub’s spotlight is how you see what’s coming, and every layer asks you to trade a little more safety for answers. Every layer ends in a boss fight, eight bosses in all, built in the bullet-hell style the series is known for.

Between fights, the game turns into a packing puzzle. Weapons, engines, drones and hull modules come in different shapes and all of them fit onto one small grid inside your ship. Merge matching parts to level them up, fuse two different weapons into a hybrid with a Dwarf Star torn from a boss, and keep an eye on heat and power so your guns don’t jam mid-fight. No two runs build the same ship.

Ship grid and storage

Features:

A shoot ’em up roguelike set in the Earth Atlantis universe
Seven layers of the abyss and eight bosses
Grid-based ship building: place, merge and fuse weapons, engines, drones and hull modules
Light as a resource: the deeper you go, the less you see
Co-op, local shared-screen and online
A story that unfolds as you dive: each layer uncovers more of what happened to Pypher’s grandfather
Detailed pixel art and a dark, deep-sea atmosphere

“This is a collaboration between two really talented studios. Pixel Perfex has a deep, beautifully aesthetic, and carefully-crafted franchise universe. Eccentrix integrates intense, claustrophobic, and deep gameplay mechanics with remarkable build variety and replayability. I should be objectively working when I playtest the game, but instead I just want another run for the fun of it.” said Justin Paulsen, Founder of Rising Tide Publishing.
