Plot in My Porn Games? It’s more likely than you think!
So, today I’m going to review “The Last Soveriegn”, which a really awesome erotic PC indie fantasy PC RPG by Sierra Lee. However, before I start writing anything more about the game I would like to point out that “The Last Soveriegn” is nowhere near its final release (at least not from what I can tell). As the latest version is 0.20.2. (2016-09-07), and the game requires RPG Maker VX Act RTP to run fully (as explained on the developer’s blog itself).
Any ways, as I was saying. “The Last Sovereign” is an adult fantasy RPG that plunges you into the saga of a world torn between forces of lust and purity. As you enter the complex conflict, you forge a new path that will change the course of history!…Maybe. The thing is, acting like most heroes gets you killed, and most evil overlords’ plans make no sense. “The Last Sovereign” is a game that twists your expectations for adult games, while fully embracing a reconstruction of some familiar old tropes to provide a lot of fun, sexy content.
Current Content
Hours of Gameplay: 20+
Sex Scenes: 40+
By telling a story that has sex as an integral component, “The Last Sovereign” offers a deep storyline that naturally includes sex scenes. No need to grind for hours or lose to every enemy to find the content. Not only will you adventure in a world where sex is a weapon, you’ll build a harem of fully realized characters with their own reasons for being with you… in and out of the bedroom.
And, well, that’s all folks, let’s go home!
Okay, but really, no, that’s not all there is to it. If that was it, I’d just link you to the blog site and call it a day. The truth is, the game (while starting a touch on the slow side) is deeply interesting. As it blends politics, religion, sex and intrigue all together in a smoothie of intrigue. The story of “The Last Sovereign” is that the world is recovering from the after-effects of the Incubus King’s (later Incubus Emperor) attempted invasion into human-controlled lands. While the Incubus King was unsuccessful in his endeavor, there were massive losses for every other race on the continent of Arclent, and the Incubus King still straddles civilization with the areas he controls.
As the game starts, you play as an arrogant “Chosen One” who’s blessed by the world’s Divine Being, Ivala. You team up with Simon, which is an old veteran of the war against the Incubus King who’s tasked by the church to lead the chosen heroes to defeat the Incubus King, (a task that he sadly enough fails every time), and Altina, an Elf, who instantly falls for the chosen hero. She’s really good with magic though. Anyway, your first job is to infiltrate a stronghold of the Incubus King, a task that’s pretty simple considering that the Chosen One gets bonus exp and recovers full HP and MP after every battle. So, go ahead, spam his skills, it works out for the best!
And after you get inside, well, everything goes to hell in a hand basket quickly as it turns out that it’s a trap set up by a high-ranking Succubus named Riala. After an unwinnable battle, Altina gets captured, the Chosen One gets snu-snu’d to death by Succubi and Simon escapes. However, not before Riala implants a Soul Shard of the Lustlord (allegedly), who is apparently one of the several Divine Beings in the world.
And, before anyone asks, there are actual Divine Beings in the game, we see them in some small cut-scenes. I’m hoping that they don’t turn out to be like the Divine Beings in Monster Girl Quest. As much as I love the whole “lose and get raped” genre of playing, by that time chapter 3 came around, it was starting to drag on. Probably why I haven’t finished “Lightning Warrior Raidy 3” yet, now that I think about it.
As an aside, it should be noted that there is an actual “Lustlord” who’s alive, but he’s not the Divine being that made up the Soul Fragments in the first place. So, what happens next? Well, after Simon gets home, he’s given another Chosen One to train. He says they’re going one way when he leads the Hero to another location. He, rightfully, figured someone was listening in and wanted to do some misdirection.
At the new location, Simon and the Chosen One meet up with Aka, a bounty hunter, though considering her moveset, a former assassin is probably more accurate. Really nice gal, is a rookie bounty hunter, but acts like a veteran to keep sleazy people away from her. During the mission, they meet Yarra, a succubus who’s drawn to Simon and joins the party after testing them in a fight.
Well, it turns out that the Soul Fragment is weakening Simon (both in gameplay and in story), at that point. However, even with him being weakened, he’s still solid in a fight. Sadly enough though, during the course of events, Aka gets corrupted by a magic circle that sends her libido into hyperdrive and causes her to lose her mind if she doesn’t get a regular amount of sex.
The fun doesn´t end there though. You see, after an event that causes the group to separate for a short period of time. So Simon and Yarra make their way back to camp and find the Chosen One having sex with Aka. Yarra comments that in Aka’s current state, she could have her personality and mind completely re-written by the person that’s having sex with her. So Simon comes to a decision and he and Yarra ends up killing the Chosen One, and Due to Simon’s history of having Chosen Ones die under his watch. No one would question him if he said the fool died in combat.
Around this time, Riala appears and explains what she did, but she can’t stay long and tells him that Yarra can give Simon the basic information that he needs. After returning to his home, Simon has some time to think and comes to the realization that the Chosen Ones can’t make the world better. Even if they can kill the Incubus King, what good would it do? Someone else would just take over, and the world wouldn’t be in any sort of better position than it is currently. And since he has the power of an Incubus King, and yes, anyone with a Soul Fragment of the Lustlord is called an “Incubus King”, why not him?
The local church has a succubus, named “Qum D’umpe”, locked up and Simon frees her, thanks to Yarra’s ability to disguise people, and heads off. Along the way, he teams up with people that he’s known from before, people he never met, forms alliances with Orcs, Succubi, Queens, Priestesses with potty mouths, humans who are some sort of Zombie and even another Incubus King, who happens to be a Succubus.
And, yes, she’s an Incubus King, though her title is “Orgasmic Empress”. The game is at chapter 3 right now, and it’s really good, very intriguing, lots of character development. The ability to swap party members when not in combat makes things very nice and fluid if some of your members are low on health and/or MP.
Nevertheless, the best part is (unless you do optional fights such as the demon spiders, or the bonus area to get the crotch less armor, don’t ask), there’s hardly a need to level grind (level grinding is literally impossible, since enemies never respawn). You can see enemies moving around on-screen, and you can choose to avoid them or fight. When you face tougher opponents, it feels like you’re at, or close to, the appropriate level when facing new foes.
The characters are well-written, and the humor is fairly funny when it’s on point, and the story is really skillfully done. Well, to me at least. Honestly, the story is what keeps me coming back for more, constantly. So, in short, it’s a great game. My only complaint is that “The Last Sovereign” isn´t finished yet. If you like the thought of all of this and want to check it out, you can find the developer’s blog here at http://the-last-sovereign.blogspot.com/ There is a Patreon for the game, so if you want to support the creator, go ahead and donate.
