I find it to be somewhat ironic that Hamster Corporation is following us on Twitter now. As I have been talking about the death of the Arcade games for at least 10 years time (I find that to be ironic since Hamster Corp has released +30 arcade titles to PS4 in Japan alone via PSN). However, Hamster Corporation arcade archives series might work as middle ground for the arcade games. As Hamster Corporation has given the games a second chance via PSN to the PS4. I at least find that to be a much better faith and outcome for the Arcade games, then simply just let them rot and be forgotten. Besides, there is quite a few really good arcade games out there.
And speaking of Arcade games, Hamster Corporation has released games such as Bomb Jack, City Connection, Double Dragon and Gradius via PSN (some of the games are just available in Japan), and every month Hamster Corp releases a new Arcade game for the PS4 (Bubble Bobble, Darius, Elevator Action and Front Line will be released in the near future for example). So in a way, the Arcades are still very much alive and kicking (well, at least on the PS4). Not only that, players can also share play screens, videos and compete with other players for the best online ranking score.
So Hamster Corporation arcade archives series are most definitely worth checking out if you´re into Arcade games. Personally, I´m going to do that as soon as I buy myself a PS4. I don´t know if you guys are familiar with Tecmo´s old puzzle game “Solomon’s Key,” but I played that game to death on the NES console back in the days. And guess what? “Solomon’s Key” just happens to be one of the available Arcade games via PSN. So that´s one if the titles that I hope to enjoy as soon as possible.
