It´s almost unreal when i think about it. I mean, it´s over 25 years ago since Nintendo released the very first edition of their mobile Gaming console “Game Boy”.

I think i was about 11-12 years old when i played on the Game Boy for the very first time.

Today, it´s of course very outdated and “old news”. But back in the early 90s. It was revolutionary and high-tech to the max! And every kid (and adult) wanted a Game Boy. Hell, everyone at my school had one (pretty much).

Not the happiest of Game Boy users. But it´s a 25 year old gaming device. So what would you expect?

For me, it was a chance to game in between classes (breaks, launch and so on). There was one huge problem with the Game Boy however. It drained batteries faster than Kim Kardashian hooks up with a new (rich) guy.

And back then (the 90s), there was no such thing as rechargeable batteries.

And batteries was expensive as hell (i think the Game Boy used 4 batteries?). There was however some kind of powercore thing for the Game Boy. So you could actually hook it up to a wall socket.

Anyhow, i just had a memory flashback when i watched The fine bros video “Kids react to Game Boy”.

So i thought that i could write a bit about my memories and thoughts about the Game Boy. I should add that i had a blast with it though (even though it had quite a few flaws and limitations).

I played a lot of Bomberman, Tetris, Castle Vania and Metriod II on the Game Boy for example. Sadly enough though. I don´t own a Game Boy anymore. But i hope to change that asap 😉
