When it comes to headsets, it can be a pretty tough finding one that’s reasonably priced and provides you with a decent experience. However, The Freedom 1 is an exceptional budget headset that provides a very good chat experience for a budget ear piece.

The build quality is very good considering the low price tag; The Freedom One sits comfortably on your ear and comes with a spare band if you wish to wear the headset on your left ear rather than the right. The headset sports up to six-hour battery life (Out lasting my Dualshock 4 most of the time), a voice monitor function, volume buttons and a small mute button. It’s simple to use, comfortable to wear and reliable for long gaming sessions due to its battery life. Freedom 1 is looks pretty darn stylish, the tag line PRIF use is “Welcome to the future” and for a short while I did feel like an augmented Adam Jensen when equipping this little device.

You can change the look of the Freedom 1 headset with the camo face-plate.

And sound quality is without a doubt one of the most important aspects of a headset. And while the Freedom 1 provides a fair audio experience when it comes to playing a single player game, the game audio comes through fine. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for game audio alone. As it shines as a chat headset. And I was surprised to find how crisp audio was from my friend’s lovely voices, and that my voice also came through just fine without any issues (until I start complaining about my constant deaths in COD). The buttons situated on the ear piece are quite easy to navigate, and the mute button can be switched with ease. Comfort is also brilliant. In fact, from time to time, I forgot I was wearing it.

So if you’re looking for a chat headset but don’t want to fork out a lot of money. Then look no further! Because the Freedom 1 headset is most certainly worthy of a look. As it’s an exceptional chat headset perfect for long sessions, and communicating with friends without any serious audio distortion. And I haven’t had any jarring issues while the headset (at least not so far).
