I’ve done two Gaming mice reviews as of lately (Roccat Kone Pure Owl-eye and Roccat Leadr), and now I’m jumping straight into my third mouse review with Roccat’s Roccat Kova Aimo Gaming mouse.

The KOVA AIMO Gaming mouse is rather light with its total weight of 231 grams.

Well, the first thing that I noticed as soon as I opened up the box that the Kova Aimo mouse came with was that the mouse is very light in terms of weight (if my scale isn’t wrong, then the mouse is about 230 grams heavy).

Roccat Kova is an extremely comfortable Gaming mouse to use and hold (only my Logitech MX 518 or G5 mouse offers the same kind of comfortability).

So that was something of a surprise to me, because the mouse sure looked heavier on the box I have to say. Anyways, my thoughts then switch from being surprised to being concerned

roccat kova aimo gaming mouse a real beast of a gaming mouse

The Kova Aimo sports a slick and very cool looking design I have to say, and its lighting is very colorful and neat looking when you turn off all the lights in the room.

Why? Because most lightweight mouses tend to have a rather weak build in terms of design. Well, I’m glad that I won’t have to worry about that with the Kova Aimo, because that’s simply not the case with this mouse at all.

Even though the Kova Aimo counts as a lightweight Gaming mouse, it still offers a rock-solid build that can take a lot of beating and use without falling apart.

You see, even though the Kova Aimo is light in weight, it still offers a robust and rock-solid design and build. Simply put, this is not a mouse that’s going to break down on you or fall apart after a couple of weeks usage.

The decent price and great performance is easily two of the strongest selling points for the Kova Aimo gaming mouse.

For example, I’ve used my Kova Aimo mouse for about 10 hours per day in one month’s now without any problems. I mean, sure. I don’t rage all that much when I play games, still. I think you get the idea (the mouse won’t break down on you anytime soon).

With that said, what about the actual user experience with the Kova Aimo then? Well, gaming, office work, and Internet surfing worked like a charm with the mouse.

roccat kova aimo gaming mouse black and white

The Roccat Kova Aimo Gaming mouse is available in either a black or white edition (I wish that there was a silver/grey version though).

I also didn’t have a hard time installing the Kova Aimo mouse and its software (Roccat’s Swarm software lets you adjust the settings as you please). As a matter of fact, it was all done in less than five minutes.

The only thing that I’m not a huge fan of is that you more or less have to install the Swarm software in-order to unlock the full potential of the Kova Aimo mouse (in my opinion, that shouldn’t even be needed in the first place…The software should just be optional).

The Kova Aimo works great no matter if you use it for Gaming, office or Internet surfing purposes.

Nevertheless, all in all. The Roccat Kova Aimo is a simple, elegant, rock-solid and price worthy Gaming mouse with no doubt (it’s one of the better Gaming mices that I’ve used over the years).

In other words, if you’re looking for a new Gaming mouse that performance great on all fronts (gaming, office work and Internet surfing) and yet doesn’t burn a huge hole in your wallet, then you should buy the Roccat Kova Aimo gaming mouse for sure.

Pros:
+ The mouse is extremely comfortable to hold and use.
+ The performance is great.
+ Lightweight and yet rock-solid in its build.
+ A pretty decent price in terms of what you get for your money.
+ Subtle colorful lighting effects.
+ Cool-looking design.

Cons:
– The sensor could have been better.
– The Aimo lighting doesn’t add all that much value to the overall user experience really (besides looking cool that is).
– Some people might find the design to be plain.
– The switches are too tough.
– The Swarm software is somewhat clunky to use.

Technology: 4/5
Comfort: 4.5/5
Software: 4/5
Design: 4/5

tgg grade 4 out of 5

Verdict: 4/5
The Roccat Kova Aimo Gaming mouse delivers an almost perfect user experience in both terms of comfortability and tech/software, and it does so at a very good price.

So the Kova Aimo is with no doubt a must-buy for those who want a great Gaming mouse that doesn’t cost a fortune.
