Press release:
Cambridge, UK, 20 October 2022.
Games by Malcs and Jagex today announced with great delight and thrill that they have just released the “Throne of the herald” DLC for their adventure RPG “Melvor Idle” (the said DLC is available right now for PC via Steam and mobile through the App store and Google Play Store for $4.99 / £3.99 / €3.99).

Throne of the Herald takes players on an exhilarating new journey through the world of Melvor as they seek answers about the mysterious Herald. Players will encounter a huge amount of new content as they progress through the game, now up to level 120, including new dungeons, new slayer areas, new monsters and a final boss fight to really put their new skills to the test. To help there’s also new items and gear, prayers, spells, curses, auroras and plenty more to be discovered.

Additionally, as part of a free update to the game players will be able to enjoy increased mod support, quality-of-life improvements and access to the highly anticipated Township skill. The Township skill brings a management simulator aspect to the game, requiring players to help with resource management in a town. This is a passive skill that can be trained alongside other skills, and there will be a second expansion to the skill in a future update that will bring combat into the fray.

Melvor Idle Features:

A RuneScape-inspired experience suitable for veterans and newcomers alike.
In-depth and endless combat system featuring eight dedicated skills, countless dungeons, bosses to vanquish and lore to unearth.
Deep but accessible systems featuring 15 non-combat skills to train, all with individual mechanics and interactions.
Fully featured and interactive bank/inventory system.
Over 1,100 items for you to discover and utilise.
40+ decidedly cute pets to collect.
Cloud saving functionality that is compatible across all platforms.
An experience that continues to grow through expansions.

“We are incredibly excited to be launching the Throne of the Herald expansion for Melvor Idle – bringing a huge amount of new content to the game for our great community to explore and enjoy”, said Brendan Malcolm, Games by Malcs founder and creator of Melvor Idle.

“When I started working on Melvor Idle back in 2018 I never imagined we’d be here right now releasing our first DLC, with the support of the studio that most inspired me in the first place. This is by no means the last update we have in mind for Melvor Idle, and I look forward to working with Jagex Partners to deliver even more great content to our community.”

Thomas Hopper, Senior Producer for Third Party Games at Jagex said:
“We are extremely proud to be supporting the ongoing development of Melvor Idle. Right from the start Brendan and Games by Malcs have been perfectly aligned with our core values and seeing what they have been able to achieve with the game so far has been an absolute pleasure. We are delighted to see the launch of the first expansion and look forward to continuing to support Games by Malcs with future releases.”

Melvor Idle: Throne of the Herald is available today for Steam, iOS and Android for $4.99 / £3.99 / €3.99.
