Press release:
March 30, 2021.
The independent video games publisher Seasun Games and indie games developers Seed Lab and Biphase Team, are today very proud and happy to announce that their bipolar disorder-themed 2D platform puzzler “Biphase” is now available for PC (via Steam) and mobile (iOS and Android).

“Biphase” is a 2D platform jumping game with exploration and puzzles as its core. In the game, the user plays the role of someone who has bipolar disorder, trying to discover and break through the self in an abstract red and black world.

Each level within the transforming world’s controllable platforms and near-around-corner exit are excellently-conceived, and challenge players’ intelligence and patience. Use the left slider to move horizontally, and tap to jump and trigger mechanisms.

Developed by a group of students, Biphase is part of a charity programme that aims to show the life dilemmas of some patients with bipolar disorder and to comprehend the patients who suffer this illness.

Bipolar disorder (formerly called manic-depressive illness or manic depression) is a mental illness that may cause unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and make patients hard to concentrate and carry out day-to-day tasks.

The patient’s mood state is often compared to sitting on an emotional “seesaw” and they often feel unable to control and trust themselves.

Biphase is being supported by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), an American organization that helps people fight against this disease. All the money collected in the game will be transferred to DBSA.

Features:
– Platform jumping puzzle game.
– Learn how to piece together the fragments of themselves in a broken red-and-black world.
– All proceeds from Biphase will be donated to DBSA, an organization that assists people living with bipolar disorder.

About Seasun Games
One of the oldest game companies in China, since 1995, Seasun Games has provided players many games aiming to achieve its mission – “Create Happiness, Spread Happiness, Share Happiness”.
Biphase is developed by a small indie game team from Seasun Games. The team members just joined Seasun after graduating from college, and during their student time, they created the Biphase prototype already.

About DBSA
The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) is a leading national organization focusing on mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorder, which affect over 21 million Americans, account for over 50% of the nation’s suicides every year, and cost $23 billion in lost workdays and other workplace losses.

DBSA offers peer-based, wellness-oriented support and empowering services and resources available when people need them, where they need them, and how they need to receive them—online 24/7, in local support groups, in audio and videocasts, or in printed materials distributed by DBSA, our chapters, and mental health care facilities across America.

Through our extensive online and print resources and our nearly 600 support groups and more than 200 chapters, DBSA reaches millions of people each year with in-person and online peer support; current, readily understandable information about depression and bipolar disorder; and empowering tools focused on an integrated approach to wellness.
