Press release:
Boston, MA – January 23, 2023 .
The Boston-based (MA, the US) indie games developer Fire Hose Games today announced with great thrill and happiness that they have just released a time-limited demo for their upcoming first-person factory automation game “Techtonica” (the said demo is available right now via Steam as a part of the February 2023 edition of the Base Builder Fest event).
The underground of Calyx has much to be discovered. Strangely glowing flora scatter the cavern floor, walls, and ceilings. Defunct mining equipment lies rusting, its technology waiting to be scanned to unlock recipes and upgrades.
If they want to explore everything Calyx has to offer, players will need to get to work destructing the terrain around them, building machines and researching upgrades to get the tools and resources they need to keep delving into the planet’s mysteries.
As players gather more resources and research increasingly advanced technologies, they’ll want to optimize their subterranean endeavors. Networking machines through the use of conveyor belts and inserters will allow players to automate their ever-expanding factories, turning them into optimized, sprawling hearts of industry.
Hidden technologies, secret caves, and rewards await players as they explore Calyx further. As their factory grows, players will need to bend the surroundings to their will to clear more space and collect more resources. Recipes for more powerful technologies and enhanced automation systems await players in the winding caverns.
Aspiring Groundbreakers can start building their subterranean industrial empire by downloading the Techtonica demo during the Steam Base Builder fest beginning on January 23rd. Players can look forward to discovering more mysteries of Calyx later this year. To stay up to date on the development of Techtonica, join the official Discord here.
