Press release:
December 9, 2014 – Utrecht, the Netherlands – As of this morning, Interloper got Greenlit on Steam Greenlight (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=303527351). We can now share our Steam integration plans.
The Steam version of Interloper will have a number of unique feature that are made possible by the Steam environment. While the game’s online matches are peer to peer and don’t require a server to run, we can use Steam’s server capabilities for registering player scores and maintaining a global leaderboard. This leaderboard will be used to host monthly competitions, which will determine the number one Interloper player of the moment.
A great feature of the Steam API is the ability to organize play sessions with friends. We will leverage this to allow easy matchmaking between you and your friends playing Interloper. Challenge any player you know to a quick match of fast paced strategic action.
Last but not least, we are planning to release a patch sometime after launch that will allow for the creation of your own content. Paired with the Steam Workshop functionality we wish to create a vibrant community based on user generated content. This will allow the game’s scope to extend far beyond what we can deliver by ourselves.
If this excites you in any way, we are happy to announce that the Interloper open beta has an official launch date: 23rd of January. And it looks like we will be able to host this beta on Steam! You can still sign up for the beta on the official Interloper website: http://interlopergame.com/
If you have any questions or wish to discuss Interloper with other like minded people, we encourage you to have a look at our forums: http://forum.monogongames.com/
Monogon Games was founded to fulfill our collective dream of worldwide famousness and riches through the development of games. We haven’t achieved either yet, hence our continued existence. We aim to deliver games of high quality in respect to gameplay as well as presentation and experience. Basically, make good games.
