I think its safe to say that HypeTrain Digital and Ink Stain Games open-world RPG “Stoneshard” has done really well on Kickstarter, because not only did the game get fully funded in just one week. The game is also crazy close to being almost 200% funded as well (and that with over ten days left on the Kickstarter watch). So, yeah, “Stoneshard” has become a Kickstarter hit with no doubt.

“Stoneshard” looks freaking great so far, and I had a blast with the alpha demo as well (it’s hardcore hard to the bone though. So it’s not a game for those who can’t handle hard games).

That’s just the half of it though, because HypeTrain Digital just informed us that Ink Stains Games has launched a free demo for “Stoneshard” via Steam (the full version is launching sometime in 2019 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch):

Prologue is a playable alpha demo of Stoneshard — the medieval turn-based RPG currently on Kickstarter. The campaign is already a huge success for indie publisher HypeTrain Digital and the developers from Ink Stains Games, though additional stretch goals are still to be reached — Stoneshard has amassed almost 200% of funding and got an incredibly positive feedback from gamers all over the world.

It is a roguelike RPG with procedurally-generated open world, an in-depth caravan management system and hardcore survival elements. You could say that it’s something like Diablo meets Darkest Dungeon and The Banner Saga.

You will explore vast medieval kingdom of Aldor, recruit new allies to your caravan, create unique hero with countless class/archetype/equipment combinations, decide the fate of a whole kingdom and die a lot, battling with physical diseases, fear and insanity. Stoneshard blends old school gameplay with modern mechanics and accessible UI, so it’s fresh and fairly challenging for genre veterans, but also quite welcoming to the newcomers.

When I saw this picture I just couldn’t help myself to think about the snes version of “Secret of Mana”.

Well, to be exact, it’s an alpha demo of “Stoneshard”, a prologue. Anyways, I think you get the idea. So if you like the sound of that, then you could download and play the demo of “Stoneshard” via Steam today =)
