It’s pretty darn crazy that it’s been almost one year ago since the last time I wrote about FDG Entertainment’s and Game Atelier’s upcoming action/adventure platformer “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom“. Well, it’s as true as it’s said, because the last post that I wrote up for “Wonderboy” was about the game’s Nintendo Switch showcase at Gamescom 2017 (that event took place in August last year).
There is no need to be sad though, because we just received an e-mail from FDG Entertainment where they informed us that “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom” is getting a new playable demo for the Nintendo Switch at E3 2018:
“Hi TGG team , we’re excited to announce that ‘Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom’ will be playable on Nintendo Switch at E3 in Los Angeles. The demo features new hand drawn animations of the human and frog transformations and includes two playable sections from the full game. You can check out the game at the SEGA Booth in West Hall, Booth #5222.” – FDG Entertainment
I’ve also been told that FDG Entertainment plans to show a brand-new trailer for “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom” at E3 2018 as well =) Awesome indeed, but what exactly is the game all about then? Well, here’s what’s known about “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom” so far:
“A LEGENDARY SERIES RETURNS WITH A GRAND NEW ADVENTURE! Enjoy a colorful action-adventure game made alongside Ryuichi Nishizawa, creator of the original Wonder Boy in Monster World series. Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom borrows the best from the classic series to deliver a fresh, modern adventure with fun gameplay, memorable music and gorgeous hand drawn animations. Can Jin save Monster World Kingdom? Help our young hero defeat challenging enemies, discover hidden locations, upgrade powerful equipment, and more! You’ll also unlock special forms with unique skills used to open new paths where mighty bosses and secret treasures await.”
As for features, here are some of the launch features for the Nintendo Switch version of the game:
Features:
– Six awesome forms with unique combat and platforming abilities to make your adventure exciting from start to finish.
– Unlock new paths and secrets with special equipment: look for magic weapons and items that gradually open up the world.
– Over 15 hours of epic adventure: explore the new Monster World in a vast interconnected environment.
– Hand Drawn animations: characters and enemies come to life with detailed animations and fun facial expressions.
– Soundtrack from iconic Japanese composers: Yuzo Koshiro, Motoi Sakuraba, Michiru Yamane, Keiki Kobayashi and Takeshi Yanagawa.
– Full HD graphics at 60 fps: the game supports 1080p/60fps in TV mode and 720p/60fps in Nintendo Switch handheld mode.
– HD rumble support: feel the action with high performance HD rumble support.
And with that said, are you guys and girls excited for the new trailer and playable demo for “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom” at this year’s edition of E3? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
