I just woke up to the realization that there is indeed no such thing as a Metroid historia book (I was informed about this by Sagi last night). However, the Metroid fans hope to convince Nintendo to release a Hyrule Historia-like book for Metroid. Thus the Metroid Historia Thunderclap campaign (which was created by #Metroid30):
“Our community was created to mark thirty years of one of the greatest video game franchises out there, Metroid! We were established to mark this historic milestone, and have grown to over 4000 members as of January 2017. Despite the anniversary date passing, this huge supportive fan base have continued to show their commitment by sharing messages, creative works and their grand collection of Metroid merchandise with one another.
Unfortunately, we have yet to see an official celebration for the franchise, and we feel that a book in the vein of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, which released back in 2011 (2013 by Dark Horse Comics), would be a perfect opportunity to bring together a wealth of information and artwork from the franchise, directly to fans.
We know there is demand for an item like this and would love to send a clear message directly to Nintendo to show that this is something that we are interested in, and would purchase if made available.
We are asking fans and supporters who want to see Metroid get some well deserved recognition, to lend their support to our Thunderclap campaign. We hope this can be the beginning of a discussion between the company and a willing publisher such as Dark Horse Comics to make this book a reality.
Thank you for reading and lending us your support! We are incredibly grateful!” – Darren Kerwin, via Thunderclap
Yes, the idea would be to get as many supporters as possible via Thunderclap, and then Nintendo to notice the campaign. So I´m doing my very best to help the Metroid community out with this. As I too would love to see a Metroid historia book happen for real. Furthermore, I really believe that the Metroid series deserves such a book. I mean, the “Metroid” series has been around since 1986, and Nintendo has released thirteen “Metroid” games to date (Nintendo has released a lot of awesome “Metroid” games over the years, but I still have to admit that the fan game AM2R beats most of them). So, yeah, let´s get together and convince Nintendo to release the Metroid historia book!
