***Update 4 – 2015-06-05 – 16:40 CEST***
I´m sure glad to hear that 2Awesome Studios shoot-em-up game “Dimension Drive” is fully funded on Kickstarter now (I just found out about it). Especially due to the fact that a troll ruined their previous Kickstarter campaign, but this time everything worked out as planned. In fact, “Dimension Drive” has collected over 33,000 Euro so far (that´s 3,000 Euro more than the original Kickstarter goal of 30,000 Euro).
So that´s some really great news for sure, and there´s about 12 days left on the Kickstarter watch, so “hopefully” “Dimension Drive” will reach some of its extended Kickstarter goals as well. I also found out that if you back “Dimension Drive” with at least 16 Euros on Kickstarter, then you will be able to get “Roche Fusion” (another awesome shoot-em-up game) for free via Steam!
You better hurry up though, as this deal will end very soon!
Press release:
We are happy to inform you that we have reached our funding goal in Kickstarter with 2 weeks left on it. The following stretch goals have been announced (first one already met):
– Boss Mode: At 31000€ we will create a new game mode, Boss Mode! It will be unlocked after finishing the game. Players will be able to play all the boss battles in one go, yes, all of them in a single arena!
– Horde Mode: Raising 33000€ will enable us to create an endless procedural mode. Players will get to play in infinite levels that will be procedurally generated.
2 Player Mode: Raising 36000€ local multiplayer will be added to the game. Co-op story mode for 2 players and a PVP.
– More to come: … we still have some surprises that we would like to add into Dimension Drive … but they are still a secret 🙂
Finally, to celebrate that we are funded we have launched a 72 hour deal with Amulware’s Roche Fusion. Backing our Kickstarter at 12€ or more and pledging 4€ extra will get them a FREE copy of Roche Fusion on Steam.

Yep, Jack is back! And 2Awesome studio´s “Dimension Drive” is doing really great on Kickstarter. As “Dimension Drive” has already collected over 21,000 Euro in just a couple of days (the goal is to collect 30,000 Euro). And there´s still 27 days left on the Kickstarter watch as well. So it seems like the troll has lost for sure.
And it´s all thanks to the Gaming community and all the backers from the previous Kickstarter campaign =) So i sure look forward to hear that “Dimension Drive” has been fully funded on Kickstarter in the near future.
“During our last kickstarter we were trolled. We were played, we were taken for a fool, and we were gutted. But you all helped us back up and that just goes to show that through the power of community we can do anything.” – 2Awesome studio

***Update 2 – 2015-05-18 – 14:16 CEST***
Today is the day when 2Awesome studio will relaunch their awesome shoot-em-up game “Dimension Drive” on Kickstarter. So keep your eye´s open for it people! And let´s hope that no trolls will ruin the Kickstarter campaign this time…
“On Monday we will re-launch our campaign. We are still working out the exact details but we will inform you during the week-end. It hasn’t been an easy decision within the team, but we don’t want this “Johantan” defeat us, destroy our dream of developing Dimension Drive. That is why after these 2 days of healing we are back. We decided to stand up and say no, this is not right. As Jackelyne, our hero, would say … “we won’t back out !!!”.” – 2Awesome Studios, via their dev blog

***Update 1 – 2015-05-16 – 21:30 CEST***
About two days ago 2Awesome Studios got tricked by a troll on Kickstarter that pledged 7,000 Euro to the “Dimension Drive” campaign. And how was 2Awesome Studios tricked? The troll reverted his/her money just before the Kickstarter campaign ended. So the victory party got turned into a funeral instead. But don´t be sad, because the backers of “Dimension Drive” gave 2Awesome Studios a lot of support after the tasteless troll prank.
And today i was informed by Jose Mora-Jimenez that there will be a new Kickstarter campaign for “Dimension Drive” this Monday!
So don´t miss out on the chance to give “Dimension Drive” a well deserved funding this time.

Last night was rather intense for me. As i was informed that 2Awesome Studio´s shoot-em-up game “Dimension Drive” was about 7,000 Euro short on Kickstarter. And there was just 3 hours left on the Kickstarter klock as well. So i did what i could to help, as i really wanted “Dimension Drive” to get fully funded on Kickstarter.
And then a miracle happened, someone pledged 7,000 Euro on the Kickstarter campaign. So i really thought that “Dimension Drive” was home safe. But i was wrong, because just before the Kickstarter campaign was about to end. The person who (Hero?) pleaged 7,000 Euro reverted his/her money. So “Dimension Drive” failed to reach it´s Kickstarter goal on time.
“Guys, We are completely overwhelmed with all the support we are getting from you. We are trying to understand with the kickstarter guys what exactly happened with the fraudulent pledge. As soon as we have some news, we will come back to you (sorry if we can’t reply to each of you individually at the moment).” – 2Awesome Studio´s, via Kickstarter

I think it´s safe to say that everyone hates that one troll that tricked 2Awesome Studios on Kickstarter.
So the whole thing was just a prank by some internet troll who just did it for the fun of it. And that was a really big disappointment for 2Awesome Studios (and everyone else for that matter). But even so, there´s still hope to be found for “Dimension Drive”. Because throughout the Kickstarter campaign the game has received a lot of support from the Gaming community.
And that means that “Dimension Drive” might get a second chance on Kickstarter in the near future, or perhaps 2Awesome Studio´s will launch a campaign for their game on Indiegogo instead? I sure hope so! Anyhow, this is what Jose Mora-Jimenez (Music Composer for Dimension Drive) had to say about the troll on Kickstarter:
“Despite of what happened yesterday with #DimensionDrive, it’s so awesome to see all the support from the community #gamedev #indiedev” – Jose Mora-Jimenez, Music Composer for Dimension Drive
