I don’t know if you guys and girls still remember it, but back in September of 2016, I wrote a post about Calavera Studio’s upcoming sequel to “MiniDoom“. Well, at the time it seemed like “MiniDoom 2” would launch sometime in November (2016). However, that was not the case…Because “MiniDoom 2” is still to see the day of light. That’s also why I got rather excited when I spotted the following comment by Felipe Porcel from Calavera Studio (the comment was published by Felipe on the 28th of September this year):
“Thanks for the patience. We are still hard at work on miniDoom2 and want to release as soon as we can. I just updated the blog, we were finishing the final boss and level, things we can’t really share much about. I can’t give a date yet, all I can say is that the game will be out this 2017.” – Felipe Porcel, Calavera Studio
Nice indeed, but I also decided to reach out to Juan Carlos Porcel for a comment on this matter. So here’s what Juan told me just now:
“Hi Juan =) I’m sorry to bother you (I’m the guy who wrote and made a video about “MiniDoom back in September of 2016). I just wanted to ask you if it’s true that “MiniDoom II” is coming out this year? Thanks!” – Robin TGG
“Hello! Yes, we want to launch it for or around christmas. All the level design and implementation is basically done. My brother is now only adding a couple of secret items here and there. We are now basically doing all the pixelart for the levels and cutscenes which is about 50% done so we are confident this year we will actually finish this damn thing!” – Juan Carlos Porcel, Calavera Studio
In other words, “if” everything goes according to plan, then we should be able to play “MiniDoom around Christmas sometime this year. In the mean while though, you could always watch our gameplay video for “MiniDoom” down below 😉 (don’t forget to check out our PC review for “MiniDoom” as well!) And if you like what you see, then you could download and play the game for free =)
