***Update 2015-06-08 – 12:17 CEST***
Last night, we were informed by Dark-Spot studios that their 16-bit shoot-em-up game “Don Yoku” has been launched on Steam Greenlight. So I just wanted to inform you guys about that. There´s also a brand-new trailer for “Don Yoku” as well (which imo looks really good), and i have to say that “Don Yoku” has come a long way since the first time i saw the game.
So if you´re into shoot-em-up games, then I’m quite sure that you´re going to like “Don Yoku” for sure! And “if” that´s the case, And oh! Don´t forget to show the game some love and support on Steam Greenlight.
About Don Yoku:
If you love shoot ‘em up and you love ‘em hard, with glorious music, with screen filling bullet patterns and huge token cancels, then Don’yoku is just for you!
Wield the incredible powers of the Don’Yoku techniques, that focus ones greed into powerful beams, shields and even gigantic personifications of that controversial sentiment.
The game unfold during a fantasy 1920, where air pirates plague the zeppelin routes and mercenaries, like our characters, fight for the rich bounties offered by travel companies.
Take the role of the mythical Iron chin, the ruthless Baron or the mysterious Duchess, in a epic battle against their former mercenary companion, now turned pirates.

Back in the 80s and 90s shoot-em-up games existed everywhere and nowhere. And i´m not even exaggerating either. As Shmups dominated both the arcades, the home consoles, portable consoles and the home PC´s. But after the 90s, the shmups genre was not as big (or popular) as it used to be.
So i (like many others) feasted on old school Shmups from the past. But once the indie dev scene started grow like crazy in the 2000s (mainly thanks to the crowdfunding platforms, such as Kickstarter and indiegogo for example).
More and more Shmups games were made. And just the other night i found out about Dark-Spot studio´s upcoming shmup “Don Yoku” (for Windows, MAC and Linux).
And once i saw some pictures and in-game footage from “Don Yoku”. I immediately thought of games such as “Bomber Raid” (Master System), “Fire Shark” (Mega Drive) and “Twin Hawk” (Mega Drive). But “Don Yoku” looks way better of course, and the game seems to be way more intense as well (bullet hell).
So if you like shoot-em-up games such as this. Then i´m glad to inform you that “Don Yoku” is set for a release sometime this summer. And if you feel like it, you can actually sign up as a beta tester for the game by mailing ironchinaviator[at]gmail.com.
Me, i´m just going to wait for the final production. As i’ve already got my hands full at the moment.
