I (Robin Ek, TGG) just heard the great news that Laughing machines pixelart Action/RPG “UnDungeon” (for Windows, MAC and Linux, the game will also be released to PS4, Xbox One and Switch at a later time) has done really well on Kickstarter. In the matter of fact, the game did so well on Kickstarter that Laughing machines almost collected twice as much money as they asked for. You see, the original goal was to collect 50,000 Euros, but “UnDungeon” managed to collect 95,519 Euros in total. Yes, you guess it, “UnDungeon” has just been fully funded on Kickstarter!
In other words, we should get to experience the following features in the full version of “UnDungeon” (the game is said to be ready for a release in January next year):
Features:
– Action / RPG / Adventure With Roguelike Elements
– Unorthodox World, Universe, & Characters
– 7 Unique Playable characters
– Modular Nonlinear Storyline & Freeplay
– Semi-Procedural Levels Generation
– Fast-Paced Dynamic Combat System
– Hand Drawn Pixelart
Great indeed, but what is the game all about then? And what´s the plot? Well, this is the actual game description and history for “UnDungeon”:
“UnDungeon is an action/roguelike/RPG game with a dynamic fighting system which comprises a great variety of unusual mechanics, making it extremely engaging to explore its world, charismatic characters with tons of quests, and lovely pixel graphics. As a player, you get a role of one of the seven Heralds and go on a long journey in the attempt to mend the world damaged by a global cataclysm or bring the devastation to the end. UnDungeon is approved by Square Enix Collective and receive 93% of positive votes.”
“Currently, UnDungeon is situated at its pre-alpha stage of development. The working prototype has been already developed. It includes the combat system, map and local level generation, ability combination system, loot, and other aspects. The next one is a quest system. At the same time we work on sound design. A part of OST is finished and the work on sounds is in progress. It is hard to estimate the volume of work on art, texts, and level design – the game requires as much content as possible to become more flexible and saturated. But we are going to finish core of the game by the end of the year. During the year, we plan to release an exclusive demo for Kickstarter backers – and we’re looking into the possibility of creating a public demo after this.” – Laughing machines
I don´t know if that sounds good to you, but I like the sound of that at least. Furthermore, I really enjoyed the Kickstarter (you can watch that one down below!) and teaser trailer for “UnDungeon”. It´s also worth mentioning that the game got greenlit on Steam Greenlight just recently. So I take it that there are quite a few Gamers out there that are hungry for “UnDungeon”. Any ways, lots of congratulations to Laughing machines on their huge Kickstarter success!
