Some of you might remember old school fighting games such as “Comix Zone” and the “Streets of Rage” series? But for those who doesn´t. “Streets of Rage” and “Comix Zone” was (and still are) two of the very best beat-em-up games of it´s time (the 90s).

But as we all know, the beat-em-up genre pretty much died after the 90s. At least the genre is not as big as it used to be (the golden era of beat-em-up). Thankfully enough though, the indie scene of today has changed that.

As we got awesome beat-em-up games such “Double Dragon: Neon” and ” Guacamelee!” to enjoy. And today i found out about yet another neat indie beat-em-up game.

“Street Fist 2” is like a mix of “Comix Zone” and “Streets of Rage” imo.

And it´s called “Street Fist 2” (it´s being developed by XD Studios). I have never played the original game, but i might just do that now that i´ve seen some footage (which is early work in progress) from part II.

I have to say that the comics kind of look made me think about “Comix Zone”, and the fighting part of “Street Fist 2” gave me some pretty strong “Streets of Rage” vibes.

And i really like the thought of such a mix. So i really hope that i will get the chance to play “Street Fist 2” once it get´s released sometime this year =)

So if you like beat-em-up games of this kind. Then you should support the game of Steam Greenlight for sure!
