Funny enough, shortly after my first update of this post DDT Games contacted us again. And this time they shared their brand-new press release for TGL with us. So, here it is =) Please enjoy!

DDT Games Starts Kickstarter Campaign to Complete the Development of TGL: ThanksGiving LIFE.

DDT Games’ upcoming venture TGL: ThanksGiving LIFE will allow every gamer the opportunity to play God and intervene in the life of an A.I to help them fulfill all their dreams. The funding requirement for this project is $15,000.

Seoul, South Korea 22^th September, 2015

TGL: ThanksGiving LIFE is an extraordinary gaming concept developed by DDT Games that will allow every gamer to become God and assist the A.Is make their dreams come true. Playing God has always been a topic of much interest for the avid gamers all over the world. In TGL, God acts as a facilitator to make a positive impact on the lives of the A.Is. The A.I, however, has a free will and may not always obey God’s commands.

Several popular movies have played a stellar role in developing the concept of TGL. As seen in the movie “Bruce Almighty”, TGL portrays the power of God in a comical way. The gameplay of TGL has been influenced heavily by the “Black & White” series. Though the territories covered in TGL are not as broad as in “Black & White”, but TGL allows gamers to intervene in every detailed aspect of the selected A.I.’s life. Popular movies “The Matrix” (1999) and “The Thirteenth Floor” are the inspirations behind the story of TGL that connects with virtual reality to influence the God-like powers.

Key features of TGL are as follows:

A.I. Dreams – Helping the Peeps of the virtual world achieve their hopes and dreams is the primary objective of TGL. Their dreams are varied by difficulties of achievement. With over 100 dreams, how many can you make come true?

God Power – The player is granted a variety of ‘God Powers’ to provide influence over TGL’s Peeps. You choose whether to lead the Peeps towards living a good life or leave their lives in shambles by destroying all that they hold dear. However, be careful as too much direct intervention will distort the way the Peeps perceive you.

Good or Evil – How you decide to use your powers will lead you to the side of Good or Evil. ‘God Powers’ are divided into Good & Evil and can be used to acquire corresponding soul points. As you choose a side your form will begin to change to match your personality. Acquire soul points to grow your ‘God Powers’ to further impose your benevolent or malicious will!

DDT Games has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to develop TGL and share its development status with the backers. The funding goal for this campaign is $15,000. This is the minimum funding requirement to develop TGL is the way intended. This funding will be used to cover expenses such as development, art source, backer rewards, fees and processing charges, and software license. A small part of the funding will be left as a reserve for unforeseen future expenses.

Less than 30 minutes ago I was informed by DDT games (the developers behind “TGL: Thanksgiving Life”), that “TGL: Thanksgiving Life” has been rebooted on Kickstarter. So “hopefully” TGL will do better on Kickstarter this time. Anyhow, this is what DDT Games told us:

Since our previously unsuccessful Kickstarter Campaign we have been hard at work remedying TGL’s shortcomings.

We hugely increased the game content including a number of new ‘God Powers!’

Will TGL be fully funded on Kickstarter this time?

So it remains to be seen whether DDT Games will be able to collect $15,000 on time (there is about 44 days left to go on the campaign now) or not. Nevertheless, we wish the TGL team the best of luck!

Just recently we were contacted by an indie developer called DDT games, and they presented to us a sandbox life tycoon game called “TGL: Thanksgiving Life” (for Windows, Linux, Mac, IOS, Android, Playstation 4 and Xbox One). So I checked TGL out, and by the looks of it. TGL is like a mix of The Sims (a life simulator), Black & White (you can be good or evil in a sandbox environment) and the world of anime (TGL´s design and graphics looks very anime-like). However, TGL has brought its own features and unique take on those genres. For example, you (the player) have the power to create or break relationships, help people achieve their dreams (or break people´s dreams). And everything you do (Good or bad actions) will affect the world around you, and your “God Powers” (you can get good or bad god powers). In other words, it´s all up to you if you want to destroy or shape people´s life for the better.

Feel my godlike wrath you stupid humans! Muahaha! Oh, sorry, I got caught in the moment.

Personally, I´ll stick to being good. As there are already enough evil and darkness in the real world. Anyhow, I hope that I will be able to try “TGL: Thanksgiving Life” in the near future. Speaking of which, TGL will be available via Steam early access during the second quarter of next year. So it´s going to be really interesting to see whether people will like the concept of TGL or not. Nevertheless, so far I have to say that I like what i´ve seen, heard and read about TGL. However, I have to try the game myself before I say anything more about it.
