Most of you probably don´t remember the old ASCII game “Beast” (the game was original released back in 1984 for MS-DOS), but for those who do. I´m glad to inform you that Ratalaika Games “The Minotaur” (for Windows, MAC and Linux) is inspired by the “Beast” (as seen in the picture down below). However, Ratalaika has of course improved the graphics, sounds, music and added their own features and unique twist to the game concept. Nice indeed, but what is “The Minotaur” all about then? Well, it´s an action/puzzle arcade game (which offers tons of nostalgia feelings) that takes place in the Ancient Greece. And four humans have been picked to face some really hard (and deadly) tests by the Greek Gods. For example, the humans (you and your friends) will face the minotaurs in the labyrinth.
And that of course, is a big challenge of its own. That´s just the half of it though. As there are tons of traps to be found in “The Minotaur” as well (so watch where you step!). Besides that, you will also compete against other players for the best high score. Besides that, there are several different game modes that you can enjoy (such as Arcade, Timed, Local Co-op, Local VS, Challenge and Level Editor). And yes, you can play “The Minotaur” with your gamepad if you want to.
So if that sounds like your cup of tea, then you can download the “Minotaur” demo via IndieDB (for Windows, MAC and Linux). And “if” you like the game, then don´t forget to vote for “The Minotaur” on Steam Greenlight!
