Late last night we were contacted by Ed Gotovtsev, the lead developer of the upcoming Alaskan multiplayer survival game “The Wild Eight” (the game is in development for Windows and Xbox One). And Ed had us know that “The Wild Eight” is set for a release this Fall, and that the game “is much rougher than anything you’ve played in last years”. So, naturally I couldn´t resist the urge to check out the game some more. Especially since I like Alaska a whole lot (I watch a handful of TV-shows, which takes place in Alaska). And good thing that, because “The Wild Eight” seems to be a really interesting and cool (as in “ice cool”) game.

Airplane today, gone tomorrow.

In the matter of fact, we were actually offered the chance to try the press-build of “The Wild Eight”. So I have agreed to give the game a try. And based on what I´ve seen from “The Wild Eight” so far, there is very little room for mistakes. In other words, you better be a fast learner and have a mind of a hardcore survivalist in order to stay alive. I´m perfectly fine with that though, since I actually live in a forest in real life (I´m used to the wildlife).

I really like “The Wild Eight´s”graphics and art style.

Any ways, Ed also added the following to our mail conversation:

“We’re excited to share details about our upcoming game for Windows & XBOX ONE. It is a multiplayer survival game called The Wild Eight.

The Wild Eight tells the story of the eight people whose everyday lifes change forever in no time. They have just survived a mystical plane crash and now find themselves in the middle of the horizonless winter forest of Alaska. You are one of the survivors. Act on your own or join efforts with other players and do your best to get back home!

The Wild Eight is much rougher than anything you’ve played in last years:

* Try to survive and explore the forest side by side with other players. It’s the right way to stand against this harsh world… until a madman appears in your group who wishes to grab the catch. Or to taste the human flesh.

* At night the temperature drops to critical points, and a bleeding wound worries you when least expected. You must develop all survival skills such as creation of shelters and other necessary things, otherwise you’re doomed to death…

* Where did all these deserted buildings and mutated wolves come from? Solve all the puzzles of this place to get out of here.”

WHO WE ARE
Our team lives in one of the strangest and coldest places on Earth. It’s called Yakutia, where people eat bears for breakfast, develop games for lunch and gather firewood for dinner, because electricity is too expensive. We know all particulars about surviving in the wild 😉

Survival of the fittest is the only law that applies to “The Wild Eight”.
