It´s not everyone who manages to get successful on Kickstarter, and it´s even fewer who get a second chance on Kickstarter as well. Well, Tyler Newton´s multiplayer/team-based FPS pirates themed game “Blackwake” (for Windows and MAC) has been rebooted on Kickstarter. And things are going just fine for “Blackwake”, since the game is already fully funded (the goal was to collect $10,000. And so far “Blackwake” has raised over $40,000). So I think it´s time for the dev team to roll out some extended goals, as there is over 20 days left on the Kickstarter campaign. With all of this in mind, I think it´s safe to say that the “Blackwake” team can forget about last years unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign (much of the original came was scrapped, and replaced with new design, art, visuals and so on).

BlackWake might just become THE coolest pirate game since Sid Meier’s Pirates.

And by the looks of it, “Blackwake” is bigger, badder and better than ever before (that´s probably why the game got greenlit on Steam Greenlight in a very short period of time). It also seems like the Gaming community are really hungry for a multiplayer team-based pirates FPS game, which just happens to offer some freaking awesome naval battles. Keep this in mind though. Rival pirates aren’t the only thing that you, your crew and your captain will have to worry about. Because there are various weather conditions to worry about in “Blackwake” as well.

Someone is just about to have a very, very bad day.

That´s far from everything there is to “Blackwake” though. As the game also aims to offer the following:

Team based sailing
Various ship sizes
Ship destruction
Melee & ranged weapon combat
Objective based game modes
Headgear
Ranking system
Sea monsters (not guaranteed)
Land/Sea simultaneous battles (not guaranteed)

I don´t know about you, but I´m really impressed by “Blackwake” so far. So I really hope that the dev team will manage to collect as much money as possible on Kickstarter, as it will help them to add more awesome stuff to the game. And who knows? “Blackwake” might even get released to PS4 and Xbox One as well?
