***Update 1 – 2015-08-14 – 10:22 CEST***

I just woke up to a mail from one of the developers behind “Tower 57” (Benitosub), Anyhow, to make a long story short. We have been given the opportunity to play and record “Tower 57”, so I will start to record the game later today (I have tried a very early build of the game this morning, and I really enjoy Tower 57 so far). We were also informed about the following:

 Tower 57 reached goals:

We reached 45% of our funding goal

We got a re-tweet from a very special backer

We got Greenlit

We even landed on the very front page of Wired.de for one day

And yes, that´s correct. Even Markus “Notch” Persson enjoys Tower 57! So keep an eye open for our upcoming gameplay video 😉

I think it´s safe to say that Benitosub´s going something really cool in the making with his twin stick 16-bit pixel shooter “Tower 57” (for Windows, MAC and Linux). As the game looks and feels like a nextgen version of “The Chaos Engine”, and I’m talking about destructible environments, co-op support, intense action and beautiful 16-bit inspired pixel art graphics. Yes, I’m very impressed by “Tower 57” so far, and I hope to try the game myself as soon as possible. I also love the fact that there will be six different playable characters in the final version of “Tower 57”  (The begger, The diplomat, The Don + three yet unknown characters), as each and every one of them will offer a unique gameplay experience (due to the fact that every character has his or her own set of perks and skills).

And just to make things even more interesting, “Tower 57” setting, graphics and art design is a mix of dystopian cyberpunk meets 1920´s art-deco. That´s rather fitting though, as humanity is struggling to survive in “Tower 57” (most of the world is surrounded by radioactive wastelands).  Well, guess what? That´s the kind of environment that you (the player) will have to fight and survive in.

“The Chaos Engine” anyone?

That sounds pretty cool huh? With no doubt! However, “Tower 57” needs to collect 45,000 Euro on Kickstarter in-order to become a reality. So I really hope that Benitosub will be able to reach that goal on time (there is 29 days left to go at the moment). I´m pretty confident that “Tower 57” will collect more than “just” 45,000 Euro though, as the game looks bloody brilliant. So if you feel the same way as I do, then support the game on Kickstarter!
