PolyNoid is inspired by classical arcade games such as Breakout, Pong and Asteroids.

Press release:
Nordic, 2015.02.25 – Forget about mainstream games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush Saga -a new game from Reflx will take you somewhere else. PolyNoid is inspired by classical arcade games like Breakout, Pong and Asteroids and has a unique gameplay with an ultra minimalistic 2D design, few colours, simple polygons andsounds which bring back memories of the arcade at the local hang-out place. PolyNoid successfully combined the aesthetics from the early 80’ies arcade machines with the iOS’ devices touchscreens.

The team, ReflxReflx is a small independent business with Joakim Nygård, Jacob Oettinger, Andreas Halberg and Frederik Schumann. The four partners come from different parts of the Nordics, and met at a shared office facility at Nørrebro, Copenhagen. Here the universal passion for creative and enterprise thinking immediately connected the four.

Thoughts behind PolyNoid From the beginning, the four developers behind PolyNoid focused on creating a game which
they would want to play again and again. The first idea for the game was sparked as all four had to present an idea for something
new each Friday. Loads of sketches passed, while PolyNoid kept returning. Reflx used a few months for the development of the first working demo. Other projects were knocking on the door and PolyNoid was neglected for a while.

One cosy evening, Frederik and Joacim were at a bar in Copenhagen and shared their excitement for gaming. They were still hooked and agreed it was such a shame PolyNoid had not been fully developed – that moment was the point of no return. Suddenly, PolyNoid became first priority … now, the only delay was, every time the game had to be tested, the tester could go on playing for hours and hours and hours.
