I´m not 100% sure how i should feel about Neill Blomkamp´s “Alien 5” movie at the moment. Because one part of me is like “Yay!”, while another part of me is “Oh hell no!”. And why is that you might wonder?

Well, there´s a number of reasons why i feel that way. For starter, Neill Blomkamp (“District 9“, “Elysium” and “Chappie”) ain´t a bad director/producer. But i would much rather have seen James Cameron as the director for “Alien 5”.

As i still think that “Aliens” (Alien 2) is THE best Alien movie to date. But i´m still glad to hear that both Michael Biehn (Sergeant Dwayne Hicks) and Sigourney Weaver (Ellen Ripley) is a part of Alien 5.

Because i like both of them, and they are a really important part of the Alien universe as well.

It seems like Sigourney Weave will be even “more” alien-like in Alien 5?

Even so, i wonder what Blomkamp has instore for them in Alien 5? I´m also curious to find out what he means by “Alien 5 will be a genetic sibling to Aliens“.

It seems like Blomkamp are dead serious about giving the Alien series a proper ending though, as he stated the following to Sky Movies HD just recently:

“It deserves a proper ending.” Sigourney Weaver and Neill Blomkamp chatted to us exclusively about that little Aliens sequel they’ve got planned… – Sky Movies HD

And Neill Blomkamp continued:

“It’s a Freudian nightmare. That element to me is what is so appealing; to put the audience on the edge of their seat the whole time in a traditional, monster-stalking-you, dark-corridor-way. I love that. And then when you mix in all of the deign elements and the life cycle of the alien, it’s a powder keg of creativity for me.”

“I would love to take Ripley out of sort of orbiting around in space and give a proper finish to what was such an excellent story. So when someone like Neill Blomkamp said, ‘Well, I’m interested in finishing the story,’ my little ears perked up… I think it’s a great series. It deserves a proper ending—I know the fans would love that.” – Neill Blomkamp

That sounds fair enough, but we won´t be able to see Alien 5 until 2016 sometime. So, i wish Blomkamp the best of luck with Alien 5!
