I´m not quite sure if i should be very excited, or very worried over the fact that Netflix is planing to create a live-action “The Legend of Zelda” tv-series.
Because in 9/10 cases movie adoptions (or tv-series) that´s based on video games, turn out really bad in the end.
Just take these movies for example:
Super Mario Bros.
House of the Dead
Wing Commander
In the Name of the King
Doom
Hitman
BloodRayne
Double Dragon
Street Fighter
Most of them suck really, really bad. And one should also keep in mind that there has been very few (to none) Zelda adaptations over the years.
The last one was the animated version of “The Legend of Zelda”, and it only lasted for one season back in 1989. But it seems like Netflix are trying to create a family friendly version of “Game of Thrones” and “Lord of the rings” with their own Zelda adaptations
But as for now, Netflix don´t have either writers or a contract with Nintendo. So Netflix has a very long and hard road to walk before the Zelda project can take off for real.
And so far Nintendo hasn´t said a single word about all of this either. So, good luck Netflix. Because your going to need it!
