Horizon Chase

Horizon Chase is Aquiris Game Studio´s spiritual successor to Top Gear.

People who follows MegaDriver here in Brazil know that the most magic moment in our gig is when we play Top Gear.

This game and its wonderful soundtrack provided unnumbered incredible moments in the story of MegaDriver. It’s responsible for the band’s first great conquest: Years ago, we’ve received at our website a support message from Barry Leitch, the original composer of Top Gear. Imagine that moment when you pay a tribute to someone you deeply admire and learn that it has indeed reached his ears! I have no words to describe this amazing feeling!

Our hype is really big right now as the Brazilian studio Aquiris announced that they are doing a spiritual successor of Top Gear, baptized as “Horizon Chase”. This hype became even bigger when we’ve learned that Barry himself will be working on the game’s soundtrack! Can you imagine that game, with all that retro and nostalgic feeling, now with brand new songs written by the original composer? Believe it, because it’s happening!!!

“When I was working on the Race#2 music, I kept thinking about how I felt when I first saw Nino Megadriver playing the original Top Gear music. I had been moved to tears seeing this crazy guy with a Sonic The Hedgehog guitar playing this insane arpeggio. I was astounded that someone could actually play it ! Later on I’d seen videos of Megadriver performing it in front of an audience and heard the crowd going absolutely nuts and singing along. It was very moving. It’s every composers dream seeing all those people happy from your work ! So as I was writing Race 2 I closed my eyes and thought of Nino on stage, wrote the craziest guitar solo I could, and thought to myself… “Let’s see you play this one then…..”
