I really like when people combine Metal and video games, as I love both mediums to bits. So I got quite happy when I realized that the Washington DC-based “Legend of Zelda” tribute band “Master Sword” is now following us on Twitter (thank you!). And not only that, because shortly after that I´ve been introduced to Master Sword´s epic music. I was also informed that “Master Sword” has just kicked-off a Kickstarter campaign for their brand-new album “Shadow and Steel“:
“Our new album, Shadow and Steel, features 9 tracks inspired in part by classic Zelda games, with vocals and instrumental sections added to help transport you, the listener, back in time to when you first heard these amazing melodies. Some of the original compositions that inspire our arrangements include:
Dragon Roost Island (The Wind Waker)
Stone Tower Temple (Majora’s Mask)
Sanctuary Dungeon (A Link to the Past)
Hyrule Field (Ocarina of Time)
Plus more!” – Master Sword
That´s freaking awesome news of course. However, there is a “little” catch to it. As the Master Sword band needs to collect 5,000 USD to make the “Shadow and Steel” album into a reality. And at this time there is about 1,300 USD missing with 11 days left to go on the Kickstarter campaign. So I truly hope that Master Sword will be able to reach their Kickstarter goal on time. As I would love to get a chance to listen to the “Shadow and Steel” album in the near future.
