February has some big releases to get 2016 going and also has one hell of a diverse list of games being released this month. It’s going to be quite overwhelming for many bank balances. Nevertheless, you will find some of the best games arriving this February in the list down below!

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (PS4/Vita) 2^nd Feb

Admit it, you still know the Digimon song don´t you?

Digimon is still going strong after all these years. However, the last one I played was on the PS1, after hearing about the upcoming Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth it has rekindled my interest. The gameplay will appease fans of classic RPG games with turn based combat, random battles and as many Digimon you could shake a stick at (242 to be exact). You can also train and Digivolve your favorite Digimon and have them follow you around as you progress through the story. You can spend hours training them in the Digifarm and unlock even more Digimon to build an ultimate battle team. This is certainly one to watch, and you’re not going to have to wait long to play it! As it’s releasing on PS4 and Vita on 2nd Feb!

Not a Hero (PS4) – February 2^nd

The ultimate anti-hero game?

The Bunny Lord needs you to kick crime in the face! “Not a Hero” is by the same developers who brought us Olli Olli, but instead of skating NAH (Not a Hero) is all about shooting people to death, jumping-off buildings and swearing-in a dodgy British accent. This indie game looks like a blast, and I bet that NAH will provide a brilliant challenge. And since the game offers a wide arrange of comical characters and insane weapons. “Not a Hero” will with no doubt impress fans of 2d shooters.

Gravity Rush Remastered (PS4) – February 2nd

Will the Remastered edition be able to top the original game?

Gravity is what keeps everything in order, but imagine being able to control gravity at will and just float around everywhere? Well, you´re now capable of doing that on your PS4! The PS Vita classic has been remastered for PS4 sporting better textures, 1080p resolution and 60fps! Gravity Rush was well received on Vita and looks like it will fit right in on PS4. Gravity Rush is very unique in its gameplay and there’s not much else like it, with a great lead protagonist and fun story Gravity Rush Remastered is certainly one to add to your library.

XCOM 2 – (PC) 5th February

I can´t wait to kick some alien butts once again.

XCOM Enemy Unknown was a brilliant game and XCOM looks to build on that, in its visuals, tactics, base building, enemy variety and of its difficulty, you are truly up against the alien threat this time because they control the planet! The decisions you make in battle or back at your base will be costly just like before. This time, you can be invaded. Your actions can be countered, and you will face dynamic situations keeping the game fresh and interesting throughout your campaign. Every decision you make can come back and bite you in the ass! You have to make use of every available resource, and you’re given even more options for tactical combat. At the end of the day even if your top sniper has 80% chance to hit, we all know it’ll end in a miss.

Arslan: The Warriors of Legend – (Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PC) February 9th

Arslan looks like a mix of “Kessen” and “Dynasty Warriors”.

Tecmo Koei brings more hack and slash to the table just in case Dyansty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Hyrule Warriors and Dragon Quest Heroes weren’t enough for you. Arslan at first glance is another warriors game where you mash to buttons to death and once in a while do a special move while killing countless whelps in your path. However, Arslan does look like a blend of Kessen and Dynasty Warriors as your participate in epic battles featuring Calvary charges and hand to hand combat with insane combo’s. Arslan: The Warriors of Legend will no doubt appease Warrior fans and fans of the Anime alike.

Firewatch (PS4, PC, Mac, Linux) – February 9th

“Firewatch” looks really great, so it´s going to be quite nteresting to see if the game is fun to play.

Possibly one of the most exciting games to release this month, perhaps even this year is Firewatch, with its gorgeous visuals and thrilling story this could be one trip in the woods you’ll never forget. The game is primarily about exploration and story revolving around two characters, Henry who is the playable character and his supervisor, Delilah who he contacts via radio. What unfolds is a set of events that will keep you on the edge throughout the game. The story starts in which Henry must locate the whereabouts of two missing teens but from then on things get even stranger and more bazaar.

Unravel (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – February 9th

I don´t think that a game can be much more charming than “Unravel”.

Yarney, the adorable little yarn to life creature in quite something, this game looks to be made with heart and soul to boot. Unravel is a 2d puzzle game with some brilliant creative ideas and a story that will warm your heart and then melt it.

Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair (PS4) February 12^th

Do you have what it takes to defend our planet from every possible threat, there is?

EDF! EDF! EDF! I chant blasting the next giant spider ant robot thing to pieces in my Mech suit. At least, this is what I’ve been waiting to do since its announcement at TGS a couple of years ago. Finally, Earth Defense arrives in the west on PS4, packed full of carnage, devastation and cheesy one liners one could wish for. The past few games acquired a cult following of fans who simply couldn’t get enough of blasting giant wasps and ants, and the best part is that you don’t feel bad for doing it. The weapon arsenal is bigger than ever, there’re even up to four players local co-op!

Layers of Fear (PS4) – February 16th

That painting creeps me out.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a decent Indie Horror game, but Layers of Fear is quite the scream fest, set in a building where the mind of an artist has run amok; things soon take a turn for the worse as pictures look to be watching your every move, it’s not long before spookiness x10 steps in for a quick “how do you do” before leaving you in a state of needed new underwear and a teddy-bear, it’s pretty scary.

Street Fighter V (PS4, PC) – February 16th

May the hadouken be with you.

Hadouken, Hadouken, Hadouken, this is usually about the extent of my Street Fighter expertise when it comes to having a scrap, mashing the buttons trying to win a fight which I lose because my opponent actually knows how to play the game and pull off a double figure combo. Street Fighter V caused quite a stir when it was announced that it would only grace PC and PS4. However, it looks to be the best street fighter yet, with a huge roaster and free DLC characters! Not only that there’s going to be a story mode too! Street fighter V looks to take the year by storm with high-octane action one would come to expect from this franchise, and I must say, Chun Li’s thighs look like they could crush granite.

Far Cry Primal (Xbox One, PS4) – February 23rd

Become a hunter they said, it will be fun they said. Well, it´s all fun and games until someone meets an angry mammoth.

Upon first hearing about Far Cry Primal, all I could think was, “It should have been Dinosaurs” and just passed it off as a silly spin-off, but I couldn’t be more wrong. This 10,000 BC romp looks like it could be something truly special, removing guns, cars and modern society in general, we go back in time when it was all about sticks and stones breaking bones and words being yelled and grunted. When I thirst heard you could befriend a Sabretooth Tiger along with many other beasts and call them to aid you in combat resulted in my interest rising in this game greatly. Combat has also had an over haul due to the facts people weren’t packing machine guns 10,000 years ago. Weapons are incredibly basic such as clubs, bows and bee bombs leading to visceral combat. It’s also worth noting that Far Cry Primal looks absolutely stunning visually with some jaw-dropping vistas and seeing the blue in a Dire Wolfs eyes looks scarily realistic.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – February 23rd

May the best zombie (or plant) win!

Garden Warfare is back with more plants, more zombies and even more attitude. After the short open beta in January. It was nice to get a taste of what’s to come, which looks to be more of the same but bigger and better than before, with new characters with their own special abilities and loads variants of each character. The addictive sticker collecting is back and combat is just as fun and frantic. Gardens vs Graveyards make a heroic return and there’s even a hub where you can customize your character, join friends or enter instant combat. Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 looks like a blast improving on the previous title and turning the fun and carnage from 11 to 12.
