Press release:
Córdoba, Argentina, August 21, 2026.- After several years of pauses and reworks, Sureksu Games confirms that Blink and Die: Replay will launch on PC via Steam in 2026, bringing back one of the studio’s earliest projects in a revamped version designed for a broader audience. The game revisits the rhythm-based concept originally developed as a virtual reality experience and transforms it into a reflex-driven game controlled entirely with the mouse, featuring obstacles synchronized to the music and 10 levels built around its soundtrack.

A VR game with a 10-year history, now coming to PC

In 2016, Blink and Die made its first appearance at EVA (Argentina’s Video Game Expo) as a virtual reality project developed by Sureksu Games, featuring original music by Ariel Contreras-Esquivel, now one of Argentina’s internationally recognized video game composers.

Its concept—dodging obstacles to the beat of the music using only head movements—quickly began to gain traction. A year later, the game made its international debut after being selected for Casual Connect Berlin 2017, where it won the Best Audio and Best Kids & Family Game awards at Indie Prize. With these wins, Sureksu Games became the first non-European studio to receive two Indie Prize awards at the same event.

That same year, Blink and Die continued to appear at other international events, but, as is often the case with independent projects, its development journey was far from linear. The game was put on hold several times as priorities shifted, and there were moments when it seemed a definitive version might never see the light of day.

The project could have remained shelved, but some ideas, no matter how simple, refuse to stay in the past. Through pauses and at the pace the years allowed, the studio continued introducing small changes. That process eventually led to Blink and Die: Replay, a new PC version that preserves the essence of the original while adapting its gameplay to reach a broader audience.

New demo available on Steam

Blink and Die: Replay preserves the immersive environments of the original experience while evolving into a more rhythm-focused game, where every obstacle is synchronized with the beat of the soundtrack. Using only the mouse, players must dodge bars coming from every direction as the music shapes the challenge in real time.

As part of the road to launch, the demo currently available on Steam also recently received a new update, adding controller and keyboard support, revamped levels, local leaderboards, a new interface, and a range of improvements that bring the experience closer to the final version of Blink and Die: Replay.

Key features:

A simple and accessible single-input experience: Blink and Die: Replay is built around a straightforward control system: the entire experience can be played using a single input. This approach lowers the barrier to entry and makes the game easier to adapt to different devices and control setups, while preserving its core challenge based on reflexes, precision, and rhythm.
10 music-driven levels: The game features 10 levels built around different musical compositions. Each introduces new patterns, rhythms, and challenges that evolve alongside the music, progressively increasing the intensity of the experience.
Dynamic level design: Obstacles appear and evolve in sync with the rhythm and intensity of each track.
