***Update 1 – 2017-01-09 – 20:15 CET***

I just wanted to update you guys and girls on the situation with the RetroN 5 3-in-1 adapter. So here´s what Hyperkin told me via e-mail just now:

“Hi there =)

I just wrote about your Retron 5 3-in-1 adapter (Game Gear, Master System cartridges and card games):

http://thegg.net/retro/retron-5-3-in-1-adapter-you-can-now-play-game-gear-master-system-cartridges-and-card-games/

I have some questions for you.
1. When will the adapter be released? And where? (US, UK and the EU?).
2. What will the adapter cost?

Thank you for your time. Have a nice day, Robin TGG” – Robin Ek, TGG

“Hello Robin,

This is Peter from Hyperkin.com. At this time, there isn’t a set time and cost for the adapter. Keep a lookout on our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HyperkinGames. Let us know if you have any other questions.” – Peter, Customer Service Representative at Hyperkin.com

In other words, we will have to wait a little bit longer before Hyperkin drops the official launch price and release date of their 3-in-1 adapter.

I truly wish that I could have been at the CES 2017 event, I really do. However, sadly enough I don´t have either the money or the time to be there. Nevertheless, I´m doing my very best to cover the event from a distance instead. Any ways, as I just happen to be a fan of Metal Jesus Rocks. I couldn´t help to notice one of his tweets about CES 2017. You see, apparently Metal Jesus spotted a 3-in-1 adapter for the Retron 5 console at the CES 2017 event (as seen in the picture down below).

So, why am I and Metal Jesus so exited about this particular 3-in-1 adapter? Well, it´s simply because it allows you (and me) to play Game Gear, Master System cartridges and card games on the Retron 5 console. That´s great news with no doubt. However, at this time there is no launch price or release date for the 3-in-1 adapter (my guess would be 20-25 USD per unit). Nevertheless, I´m still very much interested in this product. That´s also why I have reached out to Hyperkin for more information. So please stay tuned for more information!
